"When eyeliner is worn too low, it drags the eye down and creates a non-flattering look," says Wiles. This applies whether you're doing a major Cleopatra flick, a tiny cat eye, or a smudged pencil look. Liquid eyeliner tends to be the biggest culprit here, but Wiles has a sweet trick: "Draw the eyeliner in a pencil or powder first with the eye open and then fill in with a liquid liner after you have achieved the desired line," she says. "Charlotte Tilbury's The Classic Eyeliner Pencil, $22, and The Feline Flick, $30, are great for this job."
