Like just about every woman in 2015, I love, love, love dry shampoo. And, thanks to my job, I've tried almost every one that's on the market. While there are plenty of formulas that can help me stretch my blowout to a third day, I've never found one that lets me skip washing my hair after a sweaty workout -- until now. Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo, $22, is that dry shampoo.
Through some feat of sorcery (or science -- Living Proof is developed by MIT scientists, after all), this dry shampoo goes on like a powder, which completely absorbs oil and sweat, and then the powder disappears. You know how with most powdery dry shampoos if you scratch your scalp after using it you have dry shampoo crusted under your fingernails? (Gross but true.) Well, that doesn't happen here. It disappears. Poof. And your hair feels clean. And not caked-with-dry-shampoo clean -- more like I-just-showered-and-washed-my-hair clean.
The true test was a 305 Fitness class, which is like Zumba on steroids. I danced. I sweated. I spritzed with Living Proof dry shampoo, and I went to brunch. I didn't even wash my hair the next day. It's that magical.

The thing that depresses me most about my #makeupfreemonday selfies (if I were to post one, which I don't think I ever have), is eyelid redness. I can get past my freckles and undone brows, but my red, veiny eyelids make me look tired and noticeably not made up.
However, I've never noticed any red, veiny eyelids on "makeup-free" celebrities, and now I think I know why. I bet they're all using Benefit Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer, $29, and pretending it doesn't count. The consistency is like a concealer, but it doesn't crease, and it gives you just enough coverage to hide discoloration without interfering with liner or shadow. It also has SPF 20, which makes me giddy and definitely puts this product in the skin care camp. Check back Monday for my selfie.

Simple Micellar Make-Up Remover Wipes, $7, combine two of my favorite kinds of cleansers: the lazy girl's go-to, face wipes, and the skin care aficionado's obsession, micellar waters. While I love the original cult-favorite Simple wipes, these are -- dare I say -- even better. They leave behind just enough moisture to keep skin from feeling tight or drying out -- perfect for anyone who's prone to wipe and go to sleep without applying serums and lotions. They're a bedside table essential.
When it comes to lip color, I want a little of everything but not too much of any one thing. Give me a hint of shine, a bit of color and some moisture, and I'm happy. But for some reason, it's a challenging ask. Tinted balms are too sheer. Lipsticks are too heavy. Lip stains last too long. Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Lacquer, $38, is none of those things, but yet it's something. It's the ultimate gloss-stick-stain-balm hybrid for anyone who's indecisive like me.
As I've gotten older, my skin has gotten drier, and I made the executive decision to switch to cream and milk cleansers. While my skin is happier for it, I miss the sudsy deep clean you get with a foaming cleanser. Fortunately, Ole Henriksen Empower Foaming Milk Cleanser, $26, is the best of both: It's silky and hydrating like a cream yet it gets just the right amount of sudsy. You feel like your pores are getting properly excavated but not stripped. And it has cotton for moisture, cloudberry for antioxidant protection and willow bark to exfoliate. It's got something for everyone -- regardless of skin type.
September is a fantastic month for many reasons but one thing trumps them all: It's shopping season. It's time to stock up on boots, snag some cozy sweaters and -- if you're anything like me -- buy all new post-summer skin care, fall makeup and fun hair products.
Fortunately, beauty brands will gladly feed our need for shopping, and there are countless new products hitting store shelves in September. From booster serums to face masks, there's a lot of exciting news in skin care -- and I rounded up some fragrances, makeup and hair products, as well. After all, it's shopping season.
