New Year's Eve is one of my favorite nights to get glammed up for a night on the town -- and the perfect opportunity to try out a daring makeup look (as if I needed an excuse). This year, Hailey Steinfeld is my go-to celebrity for beauty inspiration. I love how she takes risks with her makeup, and always looks flawless. Lately, the smoky eye has been her signature red carpet makeup look, and this sparkly silver version, from the Grammys after party, is perfect for a little New Year's Eve drama. -- Hannah Savin

To recreate Hailee's stunning makeup look for New Year's, start by applying Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Moonspoon, $21, on the lid and blend upward. Line the entire eye (including the waterline) with Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic Eyeshadow in Diamond Black, $25. Make sure to smudge the two colors together to create the ombré effect. Top lashes with an ultraplush mascara like Ciaté London Wonderwand Mascara, $22, to create the appearance of false lashes. Next, swipe Too Faced Love Flush Long Lasting Blush, in Your Love Is King, $32, on cheeks and Nars Velvet Lip Glide, in Bound, $26, on lips. Finish the look by applying Fiona Stiles Light Illusion Prism Palette, $28, just above the cheekbones to complete the ethereal glow.
Truth time: On big party nights, like New Year's Eve, often I'm content to just Netflix-and-chill on my couch. So when I do hit the town, my mentality is: Go big, or stay home.
That's why I don't even care that Naomi Campbell's glitter lip is a bit over-the-top and definitely on-the-nose for a glitzy holiday bash. After all, glittery, metallic lips have been having a major moment this year. I also like that she doesn't pull any punches when it comes to her shimmering eyelids and in-your-face lashes. You'd better believe that when she walks into a room with a look like this, people notice. And hey, if I'm going through the trouble of shaving my legs, wriggling into a bedazzled dress and paying an Uber surcharge, I want people looking my way. --Mary Squillace

For obvious reasons, let's talk lips first. One of this year's most awe-inspiring launches was Pat McGrath's Lust 004, which is what's responsible for Naomi Campbell's ruby-red-slipper-like pout. But, for those of us who did not manage to score the coveted lip kit before it sold out, the dazzling OCC Lip Tar, in Black Metal Dahlia, $16, is a darn good substitute.
To get Naomi's eyes, sweep a light, slightly silvery shadow, like Jane Iredale PurePressed Eye Shadow Single in Platinum, $22, over the lids. Add a swipe of Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper, $20, and several coats of make-your-eyes-pop mascara, like Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara, $23 (perhaps topped off with some falsies, if that's your thing). Finish the look with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush, $38, for a glowy pop of color on your cheeks.

I'm obsessed with a sexy smoky eye, and no matter the party, I'll be wearing one. This New Year's Eve, I'm taking makeup inspiration from one of the prettiest eye looks I've seen all year: Emily Ratajkowski's Emmys red carpet look.
While many (myself included) stick to navy blue, deep purple and smoky gray eye shadow, Ratajkowski showed off her playful side with a pop of turquoise blue color on her lids. It's a look that will stand out on New Year's among a sea of metallic makeup. And while her knockout eye makeup is definitely the star of the show, Ratajkowski balances the look with a pretty nude lip and slicked-back pony. -- Jessica Amaris
