The spring shows were a tale of two extremes: There was the lazy-girl way (no-makeup makeup, messy hair), and at the opposite end of effortless, there was drama, and well, effort with graphic swooshes of eyeliner and bold hits of color. And amongst it all, there was a lot to love, no matter how much time you want to put into your beauty routine. Here, the looks that caught our eye -- that we're already recreating in our bathroom mirrors.

Sleek, nary-a-wayward-strand ponies have their place -- but it sure wasn't on the spring runways. There, messiness ruled.

At Monse, hairstylist Odile Gilbert rough-dried the hair, secured it into ponytail, then backcombed the tail, tugging out some wispy pieces around the front for an "effortless, sporty look."

At Tanya Taylor, hairstylist Justine Marjan used her fingers to pull the hair into low, fuzzy ponytails after creating texture with a flatiron (and mussing up the top layer with a toothbrush!).

And at Victoria Beckham, hairstylist Guido created texture with Redken Wind Blown, then gathered the hair into a low, loose ponytails that he didn't pull through all the way, so gave the precarious impression nearly falling out. It was basically our hair after a SoulCycle class -- only way more chic.
