Hilaria Baldwin may be known as Alec Baldwin's better half these days, but she was a yoga instructor and fitness expert first. Now that she's pregnant, she's exactly who we'd want to go to for prenatal exercise tips and insight into looking gorgeous when you're eight months pregnant.. So, we did.
I sat down with Mrs. Baldwin in the middle of the recent heat wave, when everyone on the street looked wilted, tired and, frankly, a little bewildered about how to deal with the hellish weather. And then there's Hilaria, looking like a delicate, adorable pregnant cupcake in a taffeta baby doll dress. Impeccably toned arms and legs. Wearing four-inch heels, with nary a sign of swelling in her feet. "I've been really lucky -- my rings still fit," she joked.
You almost want to hate her, but she's so stinkin' cute and sweet, and that sexy Spanish accent. Grrrowr.

"In the beginning you're really worried -- the Internet is your best friend and your worst enemy because it can totally freak you out. Doctor Google is not great -- your real doctor is much better. My doctor told me not to get my heart rate up over 140. He also told me that the baby can't sweat, which is a really great way to visualize it. So I toned down my cardio a ton."
"Don't do any deep twisting when you're pregnant. I also decided to stop doing core work early on, mostly for my safety. In the beginning, you're not going to hurt your baby doing core work, but you want to make sure that your stomach muscles are relaxed, and I had very tight stomach muscles. You don't want your stomach to eventually split, which is common in pregnancy if you continue to do core work."
"When we got pregnant -- and it was a surprise -- I calculated and realized 'ugh, end of August.' But there are some positives. You don't have to worry about getting your body back right away, and you get to work out when you're not going to be in a bikini."
