As much as possible, use less heat when dealing with your hair. Don't crank your hot tools up to the highest setting and skip the blowdrying if possible. Another tip? Try skipping the hot water when you wash your hair — heat may cause fractures to your hair strands which can make it more brittle.

Love those salon blowouts? Fan of pastel hair? Those are okay, but let your hair breathe from time to time. The harsh chemicals used to bleach, dye, straighten or curl your hair can be damaging. If you do any of these, don't forget to do the occasional deep conditioning treatment and pamper your mane with love. A product like Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner, $28, can also help to rebuild stressed strands.
You're not brushing your hair when it's wet, right? When your hair is wet, it's very weak and more prone to breakage so it's best to avoid brushing after you shower. If you can't give up on it, try using wide-toothed comb instead or a brush like the Tangle Teezer the Ultimate Detangler, $14, to help mitigate potential damage.
