Legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath is as known for her highly anticipated product launches and limited-edition kits as she is for her iconic runway looks. Her company, Pat McGrath Labs, launched the Dark Star 006 line last April 2017. The collection, which was designed to create the perfect smoky eye, featured three kits that could be applied wet or dry. Each eyeshadow was highly pigmented and was meant to be layered to create out-of-this-world looks.
Most of McGrath's limited-edition kits sell out fast and this kit was no exception. Thankfully, the company re-released it later that year, in time for the holidays as part of McGrath's personal vault that was opened for the public. Apart from the Dark Star 006 line, other limited-edition products included were Skin Fetish 003 and Lust 004.
Missed out on the Dark Star line? Well, luckily, McGrath has added a ton of gorgeous eyeshadow palettes to her permanent collection. If you're looking for something similarly smoky, you can always nab the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership I Eyeshadow Palette - Subliminal, $125, or the Pat McGrath Labs Mthrshp Subliminal Platinum Bronze Eyeshadow Palette, $55.
Becca was just an up-and-coming beauty brand when Jaclyn Hill, a popular beauty vlogger with over 4 million followers, first featured the brand's Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Opal in one of her videos. This prompted a huge increase in sales and thus the now-iconic collaboration was born. The flattering, high-shine Champagne Pop shade quickly became the star of the collection — it went viral, selling 25,000 units in Sephora. It was so popular and difficult to track down that it even prompted beauty junkies to use the hashtag #findingchampagnepop on Twitter.
Since then, Becca has only continued to grow in popularity and has worked with Jaclyn Hill on two other makeup collaborations. As for the coveted Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop, $38? Well, it's found a home as a permanent member of the Becca family.
