It may sound trite, but laughter really is the best medicine. Read a funny book, read an article with hilarious memes, go see some stand-up comedy, or listen to a humorous podcast. The world's your oyster!

It could be something that you can do on your own, it could be something you do in a group. It could be as a means to have some time for yourself away from your overwhelming family life, or your high stress job. Find something that interests you completely and do a class, or watch videos online to help you.

Now, this is especially tough if you're socially anxious, but spending time with people you love is good for you. Even if it's just one or two people every now and then, put yourself out there a little and spend time with your loved ones, even just for an hour or two — it could make all the difference.

Do things that make you feel good; that make you happy. Whether it's having your hair done professionally every week, or your nails, or getting a massage every month, do you boo. Take baths, read books on the balcony or in the park. Get a dog. Bottom line? Do things to make you happy.

Often, we tend to overlook our finances — sometimes, we don't understand how certain things work... so we just avoid them and hope for the best.
