We consulted top beauty experts (think celebrity makeup artists, waxing pros and dermatologists) to share the products they'd actually use themselves when the week-long heatwaves become practically unbearable. "I can't imagine going anywhere without the Hydra-Cool Serum by IS Clinical, $90, in the summer," says board-certified dermatologist Anna Guanche. "I suggest keeping it in the fridge and applying it on your skin whenever you need a refresher." Also great for sunburn, Guanche says this serum is very soothing and is suitable for all skin types, even for those who have sensitive or rosacea-prone skin.
"I love waterproof makeup in the summer," says celebrity makeup artist Mary Irwin. The heat and humidity can really do a number on your makeup, so investing in the right waterproof products can definitely make all the difference. To keep your makeup intact all summer long, Irwin loves humidity-proof buys like Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color, $21, as it offers six color options to choose from including some perfect blonde options. To use this product correctly, she recommends using your brow pen to draw on individual hairs or using it to fill in the entire brow.
"The latest under-the-radar summer fragrance is Get A Room, $14.95, by Confessions of a Rebel," says Mariya Nurislamova, CEO & co-founder of Scentbird, a fragrance subscription company. Nurislamova says this unisex scent is a definite summer must-have, as it's very tactile, blending mandarin and red apple with smooth cypress notes and a touch of spice.
"Think of base coats like a primer for your nails," says Monika Garcia, director of education at Londontown. "You wouldn't apply makeup without your go-to primer, and you shouldn't apply polish without a base coat!" Garcia says that base coats are formulated to help polishes apply smoothly and adhere to your bare nail. She recommends using Londontown Nail Hardener & Base Coat, $18, which will prime, prep and harden your nails for the perfect long-lasting summer mani.
