Step aside, boots and heels -- there's a new cold-weather footwear contender in town, and it's not to be scuffed, er, scoffed at. Sneakers are back, and "It" girls like Chiara Ferragni, Irene Kim and Eva Chen and are taking to the streets of New York and Milan to show you there's nothing like a sporty tennis shoe to up your outfit ante -- no matter what you're wearing.

Fashion blogger Julies Sarinana, of Sincerely Jules, made a pair of Nike Air Huaraches look chic when she paired them with a monochromatic ensemble. A bright, aegean blue, the sporty shoes provide a welcome playful pop of color in an otherwise simple palette. (And incorporating matching architectural elements in the background helps, too.)

Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad showed off a slew of sneakers for this season's Fashion Week. On day six in Milan, she sported a pair from her eponymous line, pairing the embellished white shoe with a slightly more businesslike skirt and top.

London style blogger Susie Lau, of Style Bubble, shows that sneakers are never the wrong choice at this year's Fall 2015 New York Fashion Week.
