Couture Nostalgia
Christian Siriano cited "transparency" as the inspiration for his spring/summer 2015 collection, which translated to perforated fabrics, lace, sheer panels and these jelly sandals. I loved these when I was in grade school and I love them now. Let's make this an ongoing trend, please.

Sky High
Boots or pants? These thigh-high lace-up boots from Rodarte's fashion week show have us slightly confused, but mostly in love. I like the unexpected sex appeal they add to a pair of skinny jeans rather than a skirt or dress.

Wrapped Up
Snakeskin has been on our radar for awhile now, and there's something similarly reptilian about the coiled straps of these 3.1 Phillip Lim heels. They're shown here in olive green, another standout trend from the runways.

Mixed Media
Gingham was prevalent on many fashion week runways this year, so we weren't surprised to see these dainty gingham heels at Diane von Furstenberg. However, when turned to the side they reveal a cheetah print heel -- our favorite example of print-mixing yet.

The New Sandal
The "ugly sandal" trend has gotten mixed reviews (we're standing by our Birkenstocks), and it seems the sandals at Peter Som will fall under the same scrutiny -- but we like them. Metallic leather, comfortable-looking shape, fringe detailing -- this is elevated normcore.

The runway shows at New York Fashion Week left us dreaming of clothes we won't be able to wear until a long, cold winter has passed. But the shoes? Those, we can get on board with right now. The shoe trends at fashion week covered everything from lace-up heels to comfy sandals we'd wear on a typical Saturday. Here, 12 fashion week shoes that left us reeling.
