7 Ways to Wear a Fur Vest This Winter

No sleeves? No problem. These fur vests were made for layering

Fur (real or faux) and wintertime fashion go hand-in-hand. After all, what's warmer (and more glamorous) than snuggling into an oversized fur coat? But it's not long, granny-ish styles that are gaining popularity among the fashion crowd -- it's a fur vest everybody's rocking. Whether you're throwing it over a T-shirt and jeans or you're layering it under your coat to keep warm when the temperature drops below freezing, a fur vest is a quick way to dress up your wardrobe.

And if real fur makes you a little squirmy, don't worry: Faux fur alternatives are cropping up in department stores -- and even on the runways. Striped, dyed and belted, these fur vests are anything but basic. Here are our favorite fur vests of the season.

Winter White
It doesn't get much trendier than this monochromatic look from Costume National. Tailored-to-perfection white pants were paired with a matching blouse and an off-white fur vest for an ultra-modern look.

Fur Fit for a Princess
At Alice + Olivia, the modern fairy tale setting came complete with a mix of girly embellished dresses and slouchy jumpsuits and trousers. Our favorite look came finished with a touch of fur.

Blushing Beauty
Kendall Jenner proved she has the model-off-duty look down when she paired this blush Topshop Faux Fur Gilet Vest with skinny jeans and white tee.

The Warmest Way to Wear Stripes
At DKNY, a white striped fur vest jazzed up this all-black ensemble. In fact, we'd pair the vest with just about every look in the young, edgy collection.
