Bad habit No. 6: Overindulging on sweets

Have a sweet tooth? You might want to cut down your sugar — if not for your overall health, then for your skin. Too much sugar can damage collagen and elastin which leads to wrinkling and even worse, sagging.

Bad habit No. 7: Smoking

Here's another reason to quit smoking: It can make you look old. Nicotine restricts the flow of your blood which affects the distribution of oxygen and nutrients to your skin. It also contains harmful chemicals that are pretty darn terrible for your skin. So, yeah: Keep your lungs and skin pretty — by quitting smoking!

Bad habit No. 8: Excessive drinking

There's nothing wrong with the occasional drink, of course. But it's important to remember that it's not always the best for your skin — it has a dehydrating effect and can even mess with your pores. It's also got a high sugar content, which once again, isn't the best for your skin's natural collagen production process.

Bad habit No. 9: Too much coffee

Coffee fuels most of our lives. But too much coffee in your system may also fuel and hasten your aging. It elevates your cortisol levels and dries out your skin which increase your chances of getting wrinkles. And after a cup of coffee, be sure to rehydrate by drinking some water!

Bad habit No. 10: Sipping at straws

There's currently a war against plastic straws, but there's another reason why you should totally ditch them (yes, even the metal ones): Pursing your lips to use a straw affects the skin around your mouth. Doing this repetitively and frequently may contribute to the formation of wrinkles around your lips.
