12 Wrinkle-Causing Habits You Should Stop Doing, Stat

Some of your daily habits may seem harmless, but they can be the culprit behind your skin wrinkles

Bad habit No. 8: Excessive drinking

There's nothing wrong with the occasional drink, of course. But it's important to remember that it's not always the best for your skin — it has a dehydrating effect and can even mess with your pores. It's also got a high sugar content, which once again, isn't the best for your skin's natural collagen production process.

Bad habit No. 9: Too much coffee

Coffee fuels most of our lives. But too much coffee in your system may also fuel and hasten your aging. It elevates your cortisol levels and dries out your skin which increase your chances of getting wrinkles. And after a cup of coffee, be sure to rehydrate by drinking some water!

Bad habit No. 10: Sipping at straws

There's currently a war against plastic straws, but there's another reason why you should totally ditch them (yes, even the metal ones): Pursing your lips to use a straw affects the skin around your mouth. Doing this repetitively and frequently may contribute to the formation of wrinkles around your lips.

Bad habit No. 11: Not wearing your sunglasses

Even if you slather on the SPF this summer, you're still going to want to protect the delicate skin around your eyes (not to mention your eyes themselves) by wearing sunglasses. In addition to adding SPF protection, they'll also help you to stop squinting, which will in turn help keep the crow's feet at bay.

Bad habit No. 12: Staring at computers and cellphones

Here's a reason for doing a digital detox: As mentioned earlier, squinting also causes wrinkles in your eye area. And yeah, we often find ourselves squinting at our phone/laptop screens. Another no-no? The blue light they emit may also damage your skin and eyes.

Oh and, looking down on your phones for a long period cause wrinkles on your neck too! (Have you ever heard the term "tech neck?")
