It's that time of year again. The time when the color experts at Pantone flip through their thousands of color swatches to determine which luscious hue most deserves the distinguished title of, ehem, Color of the Year. At which point, the rest of us flock to department stores and makeup counters to snatch up clothing and beauty products in its various shades because, well, it's so pretty, and how have we never noticed this particular color before, and, more importantly, how have we lived without it for so long? So, without further ado, Pantone's 2014 color of the year is (drum roll, please) radiant orchid! And I'm pretty darn excited. As much as I love rich jewel-toned emerald, this springy color is a breath of fresh air. I'm already envisioning pulling off a bold orchid lip, hunting for creamy velvet heels and -- don't judge me -- I've already created a radiant orchid Pinterest board. So start shopping for your perfect orchid pick --we're not ones to judge.

Remember when Kelly Osbourne was on every fashion don't list? Yeah, I don't either. She's more than proven why she deserves to be a fashion icon. With her orchid-tinted hair (which she knew was avant garde before Pantone ever did) and her hardware hair accessories, you can bet Kelly will become a major fashion inspiration in 2014 and beyond.

Benefit's cult classic Bene Tint, a rosy stain for lips and cheeks, gets a candy-colored update with their new Lolli Tint. The pinky lilac shade is flattering on fair to dark skin tones and every color in between. Plus, if you're looking for a product that actually stays put from your morning coffee to evening drinks, this is a must-have in your cosmetics bag.

Okay, so I took a few liberties with this list. Even though St. Ive's new Continuous Spray Fresh Hydration Lotion isn't exactly orchid colored, the light floral scent is too good not to share. And while I was extremely doubtful of how good a spray lotion could really be, St. Ives put my suspicions to shame. No grease, no mess and I can pick it up on my weekly (okay, biweekly) shopping trip to Target? I'm sold.

Oh DKNY ... When Fashion Week came around, I searched for the perfect orange lipstick, perfected my sleek ponytail and lusted after your out-of-my-budget clothing line. And now I come across this sporty-chic perfection in radiant orchid? Granted I have no clue how to wear a see-through, ankle-length dress with sneakers in the real world, but I want it nonetheless.
