  • If you've been busy whipping your body into shape for summer, it's time to take some time to pamper yourself! Personally, I like to make little DIY natural beauty projects with things I already have in the pantry. I find these projects fun, relaxing, and budget-friendly. And the results (for the most part, anyway!) can be amazing.

  • There are a few things in life you should never skimp on. Chocolate, mattresses, eye cream, and the biggie, plastic surgery.

  • If you're like me, you probably choose a sunscreen based on its SPF factor (the higher the better for my fair skin), scent (I don't want to smell like the beach when I'm at work), or whether or not it's on sale (who's got $30 to blow on an 8 ounce bottle that'll be gone after a good weekend at the beach?). But if you're choosing your sunscreen like I do, you may be wearing one that isn't as effective as it could be at protecting you against skin cancer, a disease that strikes 3.5 million of us in the U.S. each year.

  • There's something disarming with the way children, sometimes haphazardly, believe in the more fantastical elements we, as grownups, have scoffed away. Holding your breath through a tunnel, searching for the end of a rainbow or even making a wish on a fallen eyelash -- all pastimes we've done away with. Perhaps we've been jaded by all those "Give me a puppy" wishes that didn't pan out, but just by the chance that a wish can come true is worth making one isn't it? And there's no better organization that brings to life the magical quality of hope than the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

  • The MTV Movie Awards show usually has the most daring celebrity makeup and fashion of the entire awards show world. Celebrities often reveal more skin, wear bolder prints, or go all out with completely new looks because the younger, more fun awards show tries not to take itself too seriously. This is the night celebrity style can go wild.

  • This year was no exception and celebs jumped out of their style comfort zones, some more successfully than others. Check out the best and worst celebrity styles from Sunday night.

  • It's finally June and all I can think about is hitting up the beaches and basking in the golden rays of sunshine. But before I grab a bathing suit and make a run for the car, I spend at least 30 minutes going through my stuff looking for beach-friendly beauty products to bring along. Because honestly, there is nothing cute about forgetting your extra sunscreen at home and coming back red as a lobster. So here are some of my old favorites and new discoveries that I am definitely packing in my tote this summer season.

  • With the rise of social networks and online communities, it was only a matter of time before the beauty brands got in on the game. In the past month, a slew of new beauty websites have launched that allow you to virtually play with their products or let your Facebook friends "like" your beauty photos for a chance to win prizes.

  • NARS just released a new book called "Makeup Your Mind: Express Yourself," by Founder and Creative Director François Nars. They call it the ultimate beauty manual, showing real men and women of all ages and ethnicities and it even goes into the details of makeup-application instruction with "before" and "after" pictures and diagrams. In conjunction with the book release, they just set up the NARSissists movement on makeupyourmind.com.

  • As a self-proclaimed beauty addict, I've spent countless hours watching YouTube makeup tutorials on "day-to-night" looks that take you from office appropriate to va-va-voom. Somehow, fascination has never translated to my real life since my usual look for work consists of concealer, eyeliner and mascara (so not exciting).

  • Sure, you've watched in horror as Kirstie Alley was dropped by her partner on live TV and cried when hip-hop stud, Romeo was eliminated (who didn't enjoy his abs?), but did you know there's a new rising star in Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) this season?

  • That's right, during the season finale, a new dancer will be making her debut showcase to the world on national TV. Her name is Kristi Herman. She's 36-years-old, and in truth, she's a dancer masked under her daytime occupation as a website project manager in Jersey City.

  • It was one of those gorgeous sunny days that LAists have been missing -- hopefully a precursor to the summer months ahead -- and there was no better way to spend it than attending Victoria's Secret's launch party for their new summer collection, Bombshell at the Skybar in WeHo's Mondrian Hotel.

  • The hazy LA skyline and a bright blue pool was the perfect backdrop for the pretty pink, orange and purple bottles of the new fragrance line just launched for the warmer season. With mini makeover stations and complimentary manicures and hand massages, I quickly relaxed in the comfy cabana (the trays of mimosas going around helped the cause a bit).
