Top 13 Lotions Under $10
- Posted by Sarah on August 27, 2009 at 03:40PM
There are certain things that I just refuse to spend a lot of money on. Sunglasses for example (at the rate I misplace mine there's just no point) and definitely body lotion. Why would I spend a ton of money on a fancy lotion when there are so many cheaper versions that do the same (if not better!) job?
Would You Take Beauty Advice from Someone Who Wasn't Beautiful?
- Posted by Sarah on August 26, 2009 at 05:50PM
Earlier today, we were pondering a profound (at least, I like to think it was) question: How important is it to practice what you preach? By this, I mean, do you care if the person giving you hair advice is bald? Or the makeup tips you're getting are coming from someone who, frankly, looks a bit disheveled?
Salvage Your Skin with these Tips

Sure, that second (er, fifth, whatever) margarita out by the pool seemed like a good idea at the time, but now I've got a lovely sunburn to show for it (not to mention the hangover, luckily this video can fix that).
11 Secrets Your Body Waxer Would Never Reveal
- Posted by Sarah on August 24, 2009 at 05:04PM
OMG, I had no idea that waxing was such a crazy (and let's be honest, gross) profession. These poor ladies are dealing with some serious stuff: insane clients, dirty butts and more. I wouldn't have believed it, except I heard it straight from the waxers' mouths: Jodi Shays of Queen Bee Waxing in Culver City, Calif., Cindy Barshop of Completely Bare Salons in New York City, and Leah Nacion of The Waxing Co. in Honolulu all spilled the darkest secrets of waxing. Check them out here, and pray that you haven't committed one of these faux pas (ew!).

Dermatologists Spill: How They Take Care of Their Own Skin
- Posted by Sarah on August 20, 2009 at 04:33PM
You know the saying "never trust a skinny chef"? Well, I have my own: never trust a dermatologist with bad skin. Sure, it's not exactly the same, but it stands to reason that a smart dermatologist would know how to take good care of their own skin, right?

Rachel McAdams' Bares Some Skin at Her Film's Premiere

Does Rachel McAdams ever look bad? I don't think she ever looks anything less than stunning -- whether she's fresh faced in sweats or glammed up for the red carpet.
But one of my favorite things about her is that she's not afraid to try a new look. She's gone from blonde to brunette and back (like these celebs), executed every makeup trend, and takes fashion risks -- making her style as versatile as her career.
Kelly Clarkson's Self Cover Photoshopped
- Posted by Melissa on August 13, 2009 at 03:43PM
As you may have heard, many people are fuming about Kelly Clarkson's cover shot on the September issue of "Self Magazine." Why? Because the fitness mag altered Clarkson's picture to make her look significantly slimmer than she actually is, and admitted to it! Check out Self editor-in-chief Lucy Danziger's response to the drama.
Photoshopping is rampant throughout magazines, ads and the Internet, so why is everyone so angry? This time, readers say, it is because of the hypocrisy of a magazine that is all about fitness and encourages "total body confidence" on the same September cover.
