Might I advise you, this is a large size for a curling iron. Some of the review written are because the curls are more voluminous than curling. It heats up really high, and the curls do stay, but if you want tighter curls, get a smaller sized barrel. It works perfect

surprising curls from a lower priced iron. pulls hair sometimes though. average
I like to use a large barreled curling iron to straighten my hair and turn the ends under. This iron clamps the hair to tightly too pull it through easily. But it is good for making loose banana curls.
