a little dab will do you. for short hair honestly a spot the size of a dime will do. My son and husband tend to use too much because this is not a super viscous product, so I water it down 50% and I still only have to use a VERY SMALL AMOUNT. the concentrate makes this an INCREDIBLE VALUE....
