When I use this it does better than the average product for straightening but it still requires multiple flat iron passes (with a good flat iron). I have used better and far worse.

GREAT ON KINKY HAIR
I was a little skeptical when I first received this product. It does state it's for people with coarse hair but I always have issues when it comes to pressing my type 4ab hair. With this product, my issues were minimal! The product is very light, you do not need a lot to cover a section of hair....
