A Big NO NO!
This past weekend I did some spring cleaning which included going through old makeup which I no longer needed, and I came across a full tube of Guerlain's Divinora lip balm. All of a sudden I was hit with a disgusted reaction and decided that this was definetly an item that I would be throwing away....but not before writing about it, of course! ;) Now, as I mentioned before, I am CONSTANTLY deali...read moreng with chapped lips, all freaking year long, so finding a good lip balm is always crucial to me (thankfully my search ended when I found this) and I figured that this would be a good try. I am usually a fan of Guerlain, I love their products and their quality, so why wouldnt good at lip balm, right? WRONG! I bought this at Saks Fifth Avenue sometime last year after testing a sample that the makeup artist had shown me. Initially, I was surprised at how velvety it felt; almost like a face primer but for lips, and it seemed very conditioning. So without hesitating I dished out the $22 for .12 oz tube (WHAT A RIPOFF!), and went off having high hopes. Well let me just with the fact that the texture of this balm completely changes after about two months or so. It goes from smooth to cruddy and even creates a NASTY crust around the spout no matter how many times you clean it off (think a tube of toothpaste that isnt wiped off daily...yeah, NASTY!). Not to mention that its totally lacking the conditioning part. I would apply it and then it would eventually dry up on my lips and begin to crease making me looked even more chapped. To top it off, after several uses it would go on so pale and would make me look like I just had a nasty film on my lips and not actual lip balm. I hate when lip balms make my lips look pale! EWW! I really tried to convince myself of this product and really tried to like it, but I just couldnt. It was so horrible. I dont know what Guerlain was thinking when they made this formula, because it seriously needs to be redone. Its just not right. Please stay away from this one dolls. It works!!!
