    DO NOT USE

When one of my meds started making my skin dry out for a while, this was one of the few things I could use. But it had so many issues it wasn't even funny. It wouldn't take off any of my makeup, it smelled odd, and made my acne worse. One of my male friends said something about the... consistency of it. That was the last straw for me. Do not use this, there are better things for super dry skin and they are worth the money.

    The little engine that could

I've used this cleanser for 10+ years, and absolutely love it! I have normal/combo/sensitive skin and very rarely break out. Cetaphil is gentle, soothing, & you can't beat the price - I usually pay around $10 for a 16-oz bottle. I've heard others say that it doesn't take off all of their makeup, and I would imagine that's true. I am not a foundation user so I can't comment on that aspect. Als...read moreo, I use a little water with it and rinse - the directions say you can tissue off, but I wouldn't think that is good for your skin no matter what cleanser you are using. I swear that Cetaphil is one of the reasons that people think I am in my early 30's when in actuality, I will be 46 this year!

    cleanses and moisturizes.

This is just your basic cleanser, with the addition of gentle moisturizers. I have acne/oily skin and this stuff doesn't make my skin clearer, but doesn't irritate it at all.

Great value, but can be drying for sensitive gals

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is billed as a face wash that removes makeup, does not clog pores, contains no fragrance and doesn’t disturb skin’s natural pH balance. After trying this wash for ten days, it may be right for some folks out there. However, it dried out my skin more than usual (due to the alcohols in the contents?). The texture is nice- smooth and fluid. The scent is si...read moremilar to pHisoderm which is fragrance-free as well but there is a slight “scent” there. Cetaphil did receive Allure’s Best of Beauty Hall of Fame award. Value is terrific- an 8oz container of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser can last you up to 6 months. I’d suggest you wash once with Cetaphil to remove the makeup and gunk on your face, then again to actual clean the skin and pores. I found this wash works very well with a wash cloth a couple times a week to gently exfoliate skin. This wash is truly MUCH easier on your skin than the heavily scented, beaded washes commonly found on drugstore shelves. Just be sure to continue your normal skin care routine (whether it’s toner, serum, sunscreen and/or lotions). Before you commit to an entire jug, I would ask your drugstore if they have any samples for you to try. Then you can decide for yourself if this wash is for you.

    Superior for sensitive skin

This feels so mild and soft on my sensitive acne prone skin. It has truly restored moisture and soothed irritation I had from other more drying cleansers. The only thing is that if you wear a decent amount of makeup, it's not the best at getting rid of all of it. Other than that, I really love it!

    Gentle but doesn't help acne

I'd use this here & there throughout the day because I tend to overwash but sometimes my face gets so oily I just gotta wash it. Has never helped my acne but gentle enough for overwashers or sensitive skin. Has a mediciney smell but it doesn't linger

Best drugstore cleanser for sensitive skin

I have sensitive, dry to dry/combination skin, and this is my go-to drugstore face cleanser. Some other cleansers might smell nicer or have other benefits, but this is the best in this price range I've ever used. You'll want to remove your eye makeup first using something else, though.

    Great for dry skin

This cleanser is great for dry skin and inexpensive. It doesn't suit me because I have combination skin. So whenever I use it, my skin feels soft, but not clean enough. But I would definitely recommend this product to people with dry and peeling skin problems! :]

    not good

My skin is very sensitive. I used this daily for about 2 weeks. It worked great at first, but it's over one month later and I'm still trying to get rid of all the redness and blemishes from the breakout this product gave me. Not recommended for sensitive skin.
