Very gentle!
I was so sick of using harsh cleansers on my face, so I decided to try this. I am so glad I did! My skin doesn't feel tight after I use it and it also makes me skin really smooth. Breaking out!
I have NEVER used a cleanser that has made me break out so bad in my life. I can use harsh cleanser, gentle cleanser and whatever else with minimal breakouts, but not this. I had high hopes with all of the articles on it and good reviews. a staple for me

I Have Nothing Good To Say
My best friend reccomened this too me because her dermatologist reccomended it to her. She loves it, and her skin is beautiful. So I went out and bought me the smaller bottle at Rite Aid for around $9. I put my beloved Noxema away, and laid this on my bathroom counter. First off, it smelled AWFUL. I always take my makeup off with a wipe before I cleanse, but when I applied toner with a cotton ball I still had dirt and oily coming off my skin! So the next night, I washed twice and my skin became verrrrrrrry dry, I had to put extra lotion on. The third day, my face broke out terribily. Big, red pimples. Whiteheads. My makeup wouldn't even begin to cover it up. I switched back to mmy Noxema and it took two weeks to clear. But now I have acne scars, because my skin is very sensitiive. Lots of Pros and One Con
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser has a lot of pros -- very affordable, fragrance-free, uber gentle, non-drying -- and only one con - does not remove waterproof mascara. Good but kinda gross
I have used this cleanser quite a bit, and sure, it is gentle as all get out and gets my skin squeaky clean. But I find the texture, smell off putting and kind if runny, even slimy. Kinda gross
I got this for my dry skin. True it didn't strip my skin, but it definitely didn't add moisture. yet is felt greasy after I washed it off. I had chapstick on a couple of times when I used it, and face lotion on a couple other times, and instead of washing off it just formed this gross, terrifying film that I couldn't get off without using another cleanser. A must have
I use the formulation for oily skin, and find it makes a huge difference between using just any old "oily skin" cleanser. While I myself do not have sensitive skin, it's great for a product designed for oily skin to be gentle, as often they are harsh. This has a typically soapy odour, inoffensive, clean, I like it as far as cleansing smells go. One thing I am not so fond of is the price. The formu...read morelation specifically for oily skin is harder to get hold of than the normal type where I live, and is often more expensive, not that the normal type is particularly cheap for a "drugstore" cleanser anyway. That being said a small bottle does last me a good half a year, so maybe I'm just being stingy, haha. I've chopped and changed between face washes, and honestly, nothing measures up to it. I looked high and low in my teens and early twenties for something that could control my oily skin. This was it, the gentle version was just too gentle for my skin, but the regular strength leaves my skin feeling clean and gunk free. It can be drying, but for my oily skin that was almost desirable, and 100% managed by any moisturizer, and even plain sunscreen in a pinch. This is the only product in my bathroom that I'm wedded to. My moisturizer, make up, hair and other skin care products are the stuff of whims and whats on sale.
