Phyto is PHENOMENAL!
Perhaps you haven't read the convoluted, sad story of what happened to my hair. Years ago, it was quite strong, with natural waves and a shiny auburn color. I was regularly stopped on the street on my way to work by strangers asking who did my body wave (there was NO body wave) or colored my hair (the shade was my own). I simply washed it with Nexxus Shampoo and moisturized with one of their co...read morenditioners (this was when the products were only available in salons and the formulas were exceptional; I paid a small fortune for their items). A famous stylist in my city loved my hair and suggested that I use artificial coloring to make it even stunning. In my naiveté, I allowed him to dye it, and I realized that the peroxide and ammonia penetrated the hair shaft. It was never as resilient again; I was beyond angry! Shortly afterward, I had a mishap during eye surgery and was given injections and oral doses of Prednisone for pain; there was no other I could function. The steroids basically destroyed my once-exceptional hair. It began to thin, break very easily (especially at the ends), have fly-aways, and never had the multi-tonal hue or shine it once had. I needed major help. I believe that Phyto once advertised itself as a "vegetable bandage for hair." It certainly performs as a bandage. The scent reminds me of the "egg-cream" shampoos my mother and grandmother used when I was just a young child, luscious and delightful. The shampoo gleams in your hands and lathers richly. It's really not necessary to rinse and repeat the shampooing process unless your hair needs a good cleansing, but I find myself doing it out of sheer enjoyment. Normally when I rinse my hair after using even the best shampoos, there is a brillo-pad texture which a conditioner and a thermal protection oil repair. My hands glide through my own hair like silk sans any conditioning! This shampoo has Cornflower, Mallow Extract, and several oils: Coco, Colza, Palm, and Jojoba. Hair is made more resilient, shiny, and manageable, not to mention wonderfully soft. A gentle clean fragrance remains behind, and volume is enhanced. I am a huge Phyto fan, if you can't tell by now--you should be, too! This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 2 people said helpful

The WORST Shampoo I Ever Used
I received this as a sample. The ingredients sounded as if it would really moisturize my dry hair.(Jojoba) My hair has become dry from living in the arid desert, so I am always on the look out for moisture for my hair and body. This shampoo is terrible. I used it as directed (the usual way we shampoo hair.) I completed the process with L'Occitane Conditioner, which is a wonderful conditioner t...read morehat untangles my hair. After completion, I took my wide tooth comb to comb through the wet hair. it was so tangled that I had to use my fingers for fear of breakage with my usual way of combing wet hair. I finally got the tangles and knots out and blew it dry. My hair was so frizzy and fly away. I could do absolutely nothing with it, including a wonderful ionic flat iron I just purchased and had really good results before. Since I was going out, I had to rewash and dry my hair. Rewashing with L'Occitane shampoo and conditioner solved the problem. I cannot recommend this to anyone with dry hair. Perhaps it would work on oily hair since it dried out my already dry hair. My conclusion is, don't waste your money on the product. This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Love It!
I've tried ALOT of shampoos, from cheap ones to really pricey ones like kerastase. Some shampoos like Ojon Color shampoo and Bumble and Bumble Gentle shampoo gave me dandruff and made my scalp itchy. I read reviews of several Phyto shampoos after a salesperson recommended the line. I decided to try the Phytojoba and was really impressed! After 1 shampoo the flakes were gone and my hair felt clean ...read moreand not weighed down. Alot of times with moisturizing shampoos your hair feels heavy or greasy but this shampoo did not do that! I also read alot of reviews on how to properly use this shampoo and I found them quite helpful. You really need to wet your hair thoroughly and add a small amount of shampoo and lather. Rinse and repeat (you will notice it spreads even better and lathers more on the 2nd shampoo). This time leave in your hair for about 30 seconds before rinsing. It might seem like alot to shampoo twice but I have found this to be the best technique with any shampoo I have ever used. Also, it tends to make my hair "last" longer between shampoos, 3-4 days so you end up saving! I will be buying the phytobaume conditioner as it's very cold and dry this time of year and I need that little bit extra moisture but I would definitely say to give it a try and if you buy from a store that has a return policy like Sephora, you have nothing to lose :)This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 5 people said helpful
