Worst Drugstore Body Lotions

AH-Veeno Lotion . . .
I am beyond fickle. Not only are my bedroom and bathroom overflowing with cosmetics, but shelves and containers handle an overabundance of hand and body lotions as well. I will admit that I am drawn to items with a unique quality--take, for instance, FarmHouse Fresh's "Whoopie!" cream in a glass jar. Why? It is ultra-moisturizing because of the Shea Butter and Vitamin E content. Moreover, it ...read moresmells like both cake AND icing--I still can't conceive how they concocted a scent to imitate both so truly. (And I don't know whether to eat it or wear it!). It's a definite splurge at $30.00. Aveeno is far more affordable (about $10.00), and it has two KEY ingredients which make it a staple--it has Colloidal Oatmeal to comfort dry, itching skin. Most importantly, Aveeno has a patented "Active Photobarrier Complex," a 24-hour sunscreen to protect against damaging UVA and UVB rays, both during the summer and winter. It is not extremely moisturizing, and my skin drinks it in immediately. I reapply as needed. While I may stray now and then, I know what products are truly good for skin in the long run. A Really Good Moisturizer
I live in the desert, which is very dry and hot. I needed a deeply penetrating lotion so I wouldn't look like a lizard. I have used other Aveeno products, and I decided to try this. This best feature I like is that it absorbs right away. It is not greasy (I hate feeling slippery), and smells very fresh. I layer this with my Juicy Couture Peace Love and Juicy Couture Body Creme, or another nic...read moree cream with a good fragrance because the underlying Aveeno is the work horse, and the other layer adds fragrance and additional moisturization. Not for me
I didn't like this at all. It's way too expensive, sticks in the pump and gets all gloppy, and didn't give any better moisturizing than the average body lotion. Not a fan of the scent, either.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 23 people said helpful
