Ugh
The blush is extremely messy. It's not something I would want to use for a touch-up away from my bathroom mirror, and forget about a quick application in the car. The design of the packaging is just awful. At some point the blush must have gotten tipped upside down, and now the majority of the blush is on top of the plastic grate that separates it from the the lower portion of the container, and...read more unlike a bare minerals package, I can't get the powder to shake back down to the lower compartment. Because I have a big mound of blush on top of the grate, I have no place to swirl and tap the brush. I've owned other powder products where the brush screws down into the container, allowing for a shallow lid that can be used for brush tapping and swirling, but this lid goes over the brush, leaving a gap between the brush and the top of the lid- in other words, you can't use the lid for tapping/swirling. I have to use my bathroom counter instead. I have light skin with olive undertones and in other L'oreal products wear W3. I bought the shade soft rose 488 of the Bare Naturale blush and on me it looks like a very very soft dust pink, with a little shimmer. Nothing to write home about in terms of shade-in fact it barely shows up on me. The blush doesn't wear very long on me, after about two hours it's gone, and since I can't reapply once I've left the house that's really a problem. I would also say the texture is a bit chalky- it doesn’t blend into my foundation as well as some other powder blushes I’ve used, it kind of just sits on top of my other make-up. This is pretty much the only blush that gives me the perfect everyday shade; most shades I find are too light and don't show up on my olive, darker skin tone or else are mush too dramatic for everyday use. It doesn't even really look like makeup when it's on but rather like a natural flush. It has great staying power so be careful of how much you put on because it can be a bit of a pain to lighten...read more if you put on too much (but you can fix it by applying a thin layer of foundation powder over it).
