La Mer Lotion
I finally broke down and spent the money to try this. Since it is always listed by the celebrities as their number one go to moisturizer I figured their skin looks great so it HAS to be wonderful. Plus for the price it has got to be a miracle, right? Wrong... I went with the lotion vs the cream because the lady at the counter said the cream is for really dry skin and mine is only slightly dry...read more in certain areas. While this did moisturize and didn't leave a greasy feel it just isn't all that it is cracked up to be. I can get the same amount of moisture from my clinique or estee lauder moisturizers and spend a lot less. LA MER CAUSES ACNE!
F YOU HAVE ACNE SKIN - DON'T USE LA MER! I started having acne after a huge stress. I went to the shop and purchased La Mer cream, because I have heard alot and I believed in it's 'miracle' formula. Plus girl's from the La Mer counter were saying it heals each and every problem you have. I've started my first jar and... my face skin started breaking out gradually. I was using La Mer for 2,5 years....read more I have run through a few jars with different formulas: classical Creme De La Mer(which is way too oily and thick), Fluid De La Mer(which is better formula, green-colored, but still breaks out my skin) and Gel De La Mer(which is pretty new formula, but still not better). I've tried changing so much in my life: I stopped eating sweets, I starting taking Vitamin E and folic acid. Now i'm taking oral pills for birth control(because my doctor says that sometimes acne may appear from hormone splash). I was so desperate about my skin... I started to get depressed and i was crying all the time. Because I couldn't walk out from my house without covering my acne cheeks, it was full of scars, marks, red pimples and so on. I couldn't normally take pictures on the beach. Because my cheeks were full of scars. If you have acne, you know WHAT I mean... I was trying to find a reason, but still couldn't. While my skin was becoming worse and worse... And just a few weeks ago I've found the video on Youtube talking about harmful effect of cosmetics ingredients. I've googled and found out that La Mer has a Huge Dose of one of the worst ingredients ever! It's secret 'miracle' formula has a MINERAL OIL as a second ingredient in the ingredient's list, which means this cream has a lot of it. If you don't know what's so bad about Mineral oil - check it out on Youtube or keep reading. The main harmful action about Mineral Oil that it covers your skin like a plastic wrap. It doesn't let your skin to breathe, it clogs the pores and makes your skin photosensitive(plus La Mer doesn't have SPF!). I was shocked... Really. It's like a poison for acne skin! And of course what I did next? I threw out my jar of La Mer. I didn't care about money I've spend on it(in my country it's approx $350 for 1 jar). My skin worth something better. And you know my mum was right when she said:'It's not always gold when it sparkles and shines'. Which means you can always find something cheaper and better! I'm not really on the budget(If i could afford myself buying La Mer one by one). But now I'm using Estee Lauder hydration cream. I'm not saying it's the best. I just made sure it didn't contain Mineral Oil. Any hydratoring cream will work. Estee Lauder doesn't give a promise to solve any of your problem, but on the other hand it's cheaper, smells better, and what's the main thing my pimples are appearing much less frequent. I feel that I need to give my new cream some time, because it's been only 2 weeks since I've started using it. Next I'm gonna see my dermotologist, because I want to do some acid masks, which will help me get rid off my scars. And hopefully I will 'return' my face it's beautiful look. Thanks to Youtubers, you really help people!!! Never thought solution is gonna be so easy for such a difficult problem! :) P.S. I would also recommend to drink at least 8 glasses of water! You will see the difference in your glowing skin in about 1 month! And please don't eat to many sweet, soda, sugary stuff! ESPECIALLY after 6:00 am. Just imagine how the sugar from this sweets goes straight to your skin. Tada, here comes the pimples next morning! I must say I'm still having pimples when it comes to 'those days'. 1 or 2. But there is nothing you can do about it. Hormones :) Hope this helps someone. I don't believe in 'miracle' formulas anymore. And please make sure to READ THE INGREDIENT'S LIST TO KNOW WHAT YOU USE ON YOUR FACE! Simply the Best
I have normal/oily skin and this never feels greesy on my face. I also use the Creme occasionally if I have dry spots.
