Alternative Skin Care
Read no further if you are a woman who doesn't believe in a relationship between health, beauty, and the earth, and all living things, because Jurlique, an independent alternative skin care company, creates beauty products with hand-picked biodynamic and organic herbs and flowers from their very own farms in South Australia. Just the notion of flowers and herbs freshly picked from a farm makes me...read more smile. :) Brains on Beauty: When Girl-Woman-Beauty-Brains-Blog was in the think tank, the mission was to educate women so that they could make empowered choices. I have been testing Jurlique Serum for six weeks, and I am totally sold on the product, and there is no doubt in my mind, that Jurlique is brains on beauty. It's beauty forward. It's our future. It's your life. The new line of Biodynamic Beauty products, which includes the serum, does not contain parabens, mineral oils, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfate, synthetic emulsifiers, artificial colors, or fragrances. The serum blend includes Rose Gallica, Licorice Root, Black Elder, Chamomile, Pansy and Violet extracts, which work together to combat the appearance of redness and fade discolorations to brighten the skin. You may know from reading other reviews by me that my skin gets red from my use of Retin-A and that I am constantly battling age spots. I honestly can't say that Jurlique Serum faded my age spots on my face because Retina-A allegedly fades discolorations, too, but there is no doubt that Jurlique Serum soothed my aggravated skin. Most importantly, as I continue to educate myself on beauty products, my allegiance leans towards natural and organic products, and with the love and attention that is given to the production of this line of anti-aging products, I wholeheartedly support the vision and the values of Jurlique. Jurlique is offering an opportunity to win a trip to their certified organic and biodynamic farms in South Australia—where the plants and flowers used to create the products are harvested. Eli, president and CEO of Jurlique, is so hands-on, he writes his own blog. He recently wrote: ...to celebrate the debut of our biodynamic beauty skin care line, formulated to harness the biodynamic potency of nature to renew skin, we want to send three Jurlique fans (each one with a guest, so six people total) to our source of renewal – our certified organic and biodynamic farms in south australia, where we harvest the plants and flowers that go into our products. We're also giving away a number of other prizes, including $1000 product giveaways and online gift certificates - but obviously, to me, the opportunity to visit the jurliuque farms is the best prize of all. i started this blog because i wanted to reach our customers, to share my ideas with people who share jurlique’s philosophies and this contest is a fantastic way for me to hear what you have to say. go to Julique and share your own story of renewal. you can even supplement your text entry with photos, or even videos, which you can upload & share via our youtube group. tell us how you have made efforts to renew nature and the Earth, renewed your neighborhood or community or brought about renewal for yourself on a personal level. Three winners (each with a guest) will have the chance to tour the farms, partake in authentic harvesting experiences, and be pampered with a Jurlique treatment. One first prize winner will be chosen from each of the following regions; the US/Canada, Australia, and the UK. Other prizes include $1,000 product giveaways and online gift certificates. Winners will be selected by a Jurlique panel based on the quality of submissions. The competition is currently and closes August 15, 2008.
