Very Good Bronzer, but Not for contouring!
Okay for just 3 bucks, how could I resist! I use Paulas choice reviews before buying anything and read up on ingredients, ELF is right up there with many brands I own like Mac, Dior, Estee Lauder, well...you name it, I'm a Makeup/Skincare junky ok.. So the name on this is Very misleading because while it is a Very good bronzer, it has too much shimmer to "Actually" use as a contour. Without the ...read moreshimmer and if it were just plain Matte it would have been sooo Perfect, but if you use this to contour your cheeks, you'll just look Dirty and like a shiny brown disco ball. SOOOO many women today think bronzer and use it to contour, I use to be one of them.. You can't use shimmer to make a natural dark shadow that creates the illusion you really do have high cheekbones., you need just basic matte colors for that. The blush if used lightly is not bad, but I got this just for the bronzer. It does create a nice sunkissed look, but you can easily go over board. Like anything else, a Good quality brush like Real Techniques or Makeup forever kabuki should be used. Honestly even ELF is pretty darn good. I would stay away from the Mac Stipple though because it sheds.. I got mine from the Mac store itself and it was horrible! More Pigment Please
This has a very attractive price and you get a lot of product for it. So is it a great value? Absolutely. I love the pink blush and bronzer combination. It reminds me of NARS. Some of the ones on the market are too cool toned so they end up looking very noticeable. This blends well into my skin. My only gripe is that two weeks post starting to use this, I can tell I started breaking out in areas where I applied it. Nothing had changed but this in my product routine since then so I feel this was the culprit. Did NOT Work For Me
I got this back when they only had the one duo in shade Blushed and Bronzed. It was supposed to be an affordable dupe for the NARS Orga$m and Laguna blush and bronzer duo. This was not the case for me. Upon using the bronzer for the first time with a clean powder brush it sealed over for apparently no reason and I could not pick up any product. I scraped off the hard surface and tried again with a...read more more dense brush. Same thing. So I gave up on the bronzer and thought that maybe I had gotten a dud. Apparently I wasn't missing much as I now know that many people say it looks 'muddy' and 'dirty' on the skin. So I decided to try the blush so that it wouldn't be a total waste of money. At first glance it is a pretty peachy pink with a golden sheen. Upon application it is a chalky hard to blend powder with gold GLITTER in it. I was very disappointed with this product and ended up throwing it away. I really wanted it to be a dupe for NARS. It's not. But at least it was only $3. Their products can be inconsistent, though. Maybe I just got a bad one. I like a couple of their studio single blushes just fine. And, I like many other elf products like their $1 eye shadow primer and eyelash curler as well as their all over color sticks. Love this duo
When I first purchased this product, I was a little nervous about it because I did not expect much from it considering the price. I was left awed when I applied the blush and the bronzer on my face. The bronzer is so good and it blends beautifully on my skin. The product itself is quite smooth and leaves an amazing result. I am not a big fan of blushes in general and I dont prefer them for daily wear. This blush is not heavy but it isn't too light. I usually just apply a little bit of it to my cheeks and it does wonders. The blush does have glitter in it but it isn't noticeable. Sometimes I don't even bother to apply my highlight because the blush does the job in my opinion. One con about this product is that it can get a little powdery sometimes and its gets a little tricky to handle. Overall I really love this duo from ELF and I am looking forward to trying more of their palettes. Amazing for the price!
This used to be a favorite of mine for years. It got pushed to the back of my drawer and overshadowed by the tidal wave of new contouring products that have been released within the last year or so. I recently dug it out again and realized why I had loved it for so long. Must have duo for any makeup collection
I have loved this brands products for a long time, ever since I found it in Target. I absolutely LOVE this duo. It is the perfect amount to give you a sun kissed glow (bronzer) and rosey glow (blush) to your cheeks. One thing that made me slightly nervous about the brands products is how insanely cheap they are. DON"T BE NERVOUS!!! This duo was $3 at Target and more then worth it. With how great the color is and how well it goes onto the skin it Is surprising it isn't something found at Sephora for $15. I love that it works for contouring. Most bronzers with shimmer don't work because they have too much shimmer but with this I love the look because it almost looks like highlight mixed in. The colors also don't look overly orange/pink, fake or dirty. I never used to wear bronzer or blush and didn't realize how washed out it makes your face look without a small amount of at least blush. This was actually the first product I picked up when I started trying it out. The colors blend very nicely as well so it looks super natural and with the right foundation you can get the no makeup effect. All of this with a $3 duo! Good Price, Kinda Sparkly
As a newcomer to makeup sub-culture of contouring, I think I made the right choice going for this blush & bronzer duo for only $3 instead of buying two separate products or a duo for more money. I was drawn to the peachier shade of pink in the St. Lucia package; both the blush and bronzer have gold flecks in th...read moreem; however, right after I've applied the blush the gold flecks seems to stand out more than the peachy pink color, and as the day goes on the color fades while the fleck remain, an effect that doesn't go well with my current winter skin. In truth, I haven't used the bronzer very much because I'm experimenting with contouring brushes and plus the gold flecks may not make it great for creating shadow under the cheekbones, but the shade itself is nice.
