Volume?Yes. Smudge-free? NO NO NO. NOT GOOD FOR OILY SKIN
I'm giving it 5 because it has one of 2 qualities i am looking for in a mascara. You see, i'm an asian, with short very thin straight lashes, and this just does take care of volume, but since i sweat after the first half od the day at work and school, it gives me raccoon eyes. Like i said, again, this is not good for oily skin. If you want volume, give this a try, but if you're sweaty and i'm pretty sure no one wants to get raccoon eyes, then pass this.This review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Love this product!
I think I have tried every mascara out there. I have wasted a lot of money. I found this one really did give me a lot of volume. I use the very black one and it gives me a lot of color. Good Looking Lashes
I think the claims on mascaras are the most outrageous claims in the beauty industry. L'Oreal Extra Volume Collagen Mascara is no exception. "12x More Impact Instantly" screams the packaging. What is that supposed to mean anyways? They aren't actually claiming 12x more volume (although the french translation underneath it does). The silly thing is that this is actually a very nice mascar...read morea, but the extreme packaging makes me think of annoying car commercials on the radio. I also have no idea what collagen has to do with eyelashes... The mascara itself is a nice, easy to apply formula. It has an extra large brush with lots of bristles that do a good job of separating the lashes and coating them evenly. I don't think my lashes looked any more voluminous than usual, but they did look nice and feathery - no clumping. The formula left my lashes flexible and didn't flake or smear during the day. Great Basic Mascara
All in all, it's a nice, easy to use mascara. It's not bringing anything new or special to the table, but really, is that a bad thing? What good is a cool new wand if you can't use it because it's all gooped up with product? At least this simple wand applied the simple product without a whole lot of fuss. Loooooooooong Lasting!
This mascara is one of the best. The packaging is ever so sleek and the mascara lasts all day without any running. I tend to wipe my eyes during the day but I am really pleased that I didn't have raccoon eyes by the end of the day! The only thing that struck me was that I didn't see where it gave my eyelashes a more "full" look than L'Oreal's other mascara products. Infused with collagen and Hyaluronic spheres, this is an improved version of the oh-so-famous Voluminous mascara that can easily replace your fake lashes. Just like the Voluminous, this makes my lashes instantly thicker and darker with just a coat or two. The brush is a lot bigger than the Voluminous but unlike other mascaras with big wands (Hello Cover Girl's Lash Blast or Max Factor's 2000 Calor...read moreie Extreme Lash Plumper!), it still reaches the base of my lashes and those puny bottom lashes without smearing all over the place. When worn alone, the Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara does not give a lot of length but when I combine this with L'oreal's Clean Definition Telescopic Mascara, I get va-va-voom lashes (even the ma at MAC asked if I was wearing falsies!) I also love how this does not clump as much as the Voluminous and my lashes never look stiff and brittle. It also never smears until I wash it off with warm water. Not to mention the new black-patent packaging looks super luxe and reminds me of higher end mascaras.
