Cool idea, hard to get used to the wand

Using this product, I was able to achieve some very long, spidery lashes. Unfortunately, overall I found problems with over-application leading to major clumping to be a real turn-off. It took more time to apply, which is never a good property for a daily use product like mascara. I don't think that the wand concept in and of itself is a bad idea, it's just that when it's not what you are used to...read more, it can lead to a rocky start. Also, I should add that I don't think the formula is at fault for the clumping problems I experienced, but rather it was due to getting too much product on the lashes as a result of the wand. The formula itself was rather nice and I didn't experience any flaking or smudging at all.

Interesting learning curve on this one....

So, I really wanted to LOVE this! And after several weeks of using I'm still uncertain how I really feel about it. First of all I have an issue with one eyelid: the lashes in the middle are sort of missing or thin. So for me lately that has been the real test of mascaras I use. Now with this one the ball shaped wand applicator DOES definitely make up for my lack of lashes in that area. So for tha...read moret problem I was amazed. However, I found that learning how to 'spin' the round applicator took some getting used to. I kept dropping it. Then I gave up and held it still, and that was better. Then there's the flimsy issue. Where the wand attaches to the applicator, which is small by the way, it's well...bendy for lack of a better word. So, at first I kept 'flicking' it about if that means anything. It's hard to explain. Those two problems have vastly improved and I'm finding it easier to work with. But then there's the issue of the formula. On the one hand, I love how 'creamy' it is. On the other, my lashes get so 'wet' they tend to stick together, requiring that I must comb them out. A common issue for me so not that big a deal I suppose. Wears all day for me even through tears so A+ for that. I will say my lashes do look very good so, for that I give this a 7, but I'm not sure how I feel about the applicator, wand and Lg size of packaging. I will say that I love the red tube and that it stands by itself on end. Can you see how I'm so uncertain? lol

Interesting idea; awkward and time-consuming in practice...,

Like other reviewers, I struggled with the ball-shaped applicator and with clumping of the product on my lashes. After cleaning up all the boo-boos and wearing through the course of the day, this mascara lasted well without giving raccoon eyes or flaking. Perhaps getting accustomed to the applicator would help after time, but with the clumping of the product, I just don't know if I feel like tou...read moreghing it out for that long. It is awkward to do the opposing eye depending on if you are right or left handed, as well. I found the mascara on my right eyelashes were much more evenly applied than on my left and believe that was a function of the ball-shaped applicator. L'Oreal should go back to research and development on this one.

L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Mascara Lengthens, but no volume

I have to admit that this is the first L’Oreal mascara that I actually like. L’Oreal Paris’s Telescopic Explosion mascara definitely lengthened my lashes. However, there was no volume. The innovative spherical brush reaches each lash individually for easy precise and complete coverage. There was no clumping or flaking. It is also super easy to reach the inner lashes. Wha...read moret’s cool about this brush is that it can be applied vertically, horizontally or any way you like due to its round shape. The possibilities are pretty endless. Because of its compact size, this mascara may take a bit longer to apply than the traditional wand mascara. If you’re looking for a decent lengthening mascara, check out L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Explosion Mascara.

    not my favorite

I think it clumps, is hard to apply and you cannot re-apply. if you get it just right it will make your lashes look long and sleek and it does not seem to rub off under the eye which is the best thing about it. hard to apply with the little somewhat intimidating brush!

    Long lashes but clumpy finish!

I was intrigued by the color and aerodynamic shape of the packaging, but I definitely did not expect to find a mascara wand in the shape of a spiked Q-tip when I opened up the tube! The smallness of the applicator along with the flimsiness of the wand made for a challenging application (I was afraid I would poke myself in the eye at any minute!), but once on, the formula dramatically extended my l...read moreashes. There was a definite issue with clumps, which I smoothed out by using a lash comb to separate my lashes and Voila! Long, lovely lashes achieved, but was somewhat of a dangerous path to get there given the tedious application. Whoever coined the phrase "beauty is pain" is half-right:)

    "Great Applicator" Love It!

I love the little applicator, it coats your inner and outer lashes easily! I also like how it separates your lashes. This mascara made my lashes look longer and thicker looking, and my lashes never looked nicer! I also like how this mascara does not clump, it made my lashes look smooth and volumized. It also washes off easily, with cleanser and water. Overall, I think it's a great mascara, so I'd...read more recommend it! Hopefully Loreal will create Waterproof Telescopic Explosion Mascara!

    Unique brush

What makes this mascara truly unique is their brush! It combed my lashes individually and along with the formulation of the mascara, this new product made my eyes stand out. It is great to use to make yourself look awake- think 8 AM meetings on Monday mornings. It does take some time to learn how to use the wand right though. Lengthening, Thickening and Clumpy

This product was an average mascara for me. I'm not a huge fan of L'Oreal mascaras because they tend to clump on my lashes, and this one did the same. With one coat, it did a nice job of lengthening, separating and thickening. But with a second coat I found clumps everywhere. Despite the clumps, I LOVED the wand. It really helped me get to the inside corners of my eyes and to get my bottom la...read moreshes without getting on my eyelids. The product lasted all day, and thankfully didn't make my lashes hard or brittle. It removed easily with L'Oreal makeup remover. The price is average, comparable with other drugstore mascaras. Overall, it's OK... but like I said, I'm not a L'Oreal kind of girl. Great wand though!!!

    Not Bad for the Price

This has been a pretty anticipated addition to the world of mascaras. I've actually gotten a number of e-mails asking me if I've tried it out and what my thoughts were. Many of you probably recognize the brush....Givenchy Phenonmen Eyes Mascara first came out with the spherical shaped brush. The biggest difference?? The price! L’oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara: About $10 Givenchy Phenom...read moreen Eyes Mascara: $28 I've tried both mascaras and to be totally honest, I wasn't absolutely IN LOVE with either one. I did find L'oreal's formula slightly less clumpy but that was the biggest issue for me. After the first coat, it started to get really clumpy. Even though I combed through my lashes multiple times, It still didn't look as great as I was hoping. It did lengthen my lashes and added some volume. The best part of the mascara is definitely the brush...the spherical brush makes it alot easier to reach every lash and help fan them out. To minimize clumping, try wiping the mascara wand on a tissue to remove excess product. Of course, every product works differently for each individual but I had high expectations for L’oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara and they weren't quite met. I did like it and think it's a very good mascara especially for the price.
