I changed to a hair cut that could be easily styled with a blow dryer and round brush. But it required using the blow dryer for a longer period of time and I quickly realized the one I was using was just too heavy. So I started shopping for my first "professional" blow dryer. I narrowed my choices to this model and the Sedu 4000i and decided on this one because it is so lightweight. Seriously, thi...read mores dryer weighs 9oz!! A smidge more than a 1/2 pound! It's also very compact in size so I no longer have to hold my hand 2 feet away from my head to accommodate for the blow dryer and concentrator nozzle. I couldn't find anything on the market that compared it this dryer in size and weight. I also liked that you can switch the iconic feature on or off, depending on if you are styling for volume or sleek & smooth. Only a few dryers I looked at offered that. The big surprise for me was not seeing the amazing difference so many reviewers speak of when switching from a drug store dryer to a professional model. Perhaps my Conair Infiniti Pro 1875 Watt wasn't such a bad dryer after all. I did see an increase in shine and my hair seemed smoother, that's all. I say that this dryer is "almost perfect" because I compromised performance for the light weight. This dryer is 1600 watts instead of the 1875 is was accustomed to. The funny thing is, it dries my hair in the same amount of time as the Conair. Don't get me wrong, I am quite happy with this blow dryer and plan to use it for years to come. But if Sedu came out with a dryer in this compact format, weighing 9 ounces that was 1875 watts it would be perfect.
