I said in other reviews that I am continually drawn to palettes because of my affinity for color, painting, and cosmetics in general. Actually, I've said that I have a palette-loving soul, and all of my family members and friends know it and give me palettes for my birthday, Christmas, and other occasions. But I never have enough! I've been using Lancôme's magnificent skin care products since ...read moremy early twenties, and I always loved their makeup. I am never without their "Dual Finish Versatile Powder Makeup," and I always enjoyed their single and dual shadows. One of their best ideas ever was to create a compact combining several hues. I have this palette in "Lavender Grace." There is a flattering, pinkish shade to use all over the eye, from lid to brow. You then color and contour with a sweet lilac, a gentle gray, and an intriguing, multi-faceted shadow in peach with hints of several other hues throughout it (most unusual and quite beautiful). A deep amethyst can be used along with or instead of the gray to line, smudge under bottom lashes, or create a smoky "cat eye." These shades are so velvety that they practically apply themselves; blending could not possibly be easier. Lancôme created them specifically to illuminate the eye area, and they do just that! These are highly-pigmented shadows which wear at least ten hours over a good primer. You may want to use the colors subtly during the day and then darken them for an evening out. Another benefit is that they can be used wet or dry. The price of $49.00 may seem high, but not when you get as much wear out of a palette as you do with this one. The finish is simply radiant and would make any woman glow. There are a number of color combinations, with several appropriate for any skin tone. Oh, Lancôme, I love you!
