Acne is a Thing of the Past with Proactiv!
I used Proactiv in previous years, and their three-step system combated my cyclical and occasional acne like a miracle. She couldn't have been more pleased by the time she finished the first kit, and she continued to order them. I saw what a true transformation this three-step system can create when my nephews--all fair-skinned--developed severe cases of acne in high school. They had had perfect, baby-like skin and then were suddenly besieged with blemishes! Nothing helped them and they were understandably self-conscious and actually didn't want to be seen (they were not shy). My sister bought this particular kit for each of them and made sure they used it religiously (regularity in use seems to be the key here). Within just a short time, their complexions went from red, blemished-filled, and blotchy to clear, smooth, and fair again! The products work for even those with sensitive skin, as they contain a relatively low concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%). The best part? They did not suffer from raw, scaling, peeling complexions as Proactiv worked. The whole idea behind Proactiv is to address acne as a whole, not just on particular annoying spots. Their faces were flawless and smooth, and so were their shoulders and backs. Just a word of warning here: Benzoyl Peroxide can possibly bleach colored clothing, so wear something underneath to prevent this from happening, especially if you are using on your shoulders and/or back. An End to Acne--Finally!
Proactiv was not available when I was a teenager, but my three nephews all suffered from terrible acne in high school. I have been using the Proactiv line since I first started seeing pimples at age 11. It is so convenient, the products automatically ship at intervals that you pick. I find myself using the three-step in combination with my St. Ives apricot scrub and Johnson's baby lotion, it doesn't react negatively to any other products I use on my face. I use it once a day in the mornings to keep my skin clear, and when I do have a breakout (usually during stressful times or that time of the month), I use it morning and night for maximum acne elimination! The face wash is nice and gritty for a good every day scrub, and doesn't lather at all so it isn't drying and leaves your skin feeling so clean and soft. The benzoyl peroxide is an antibacterial that isn't too harsh but works wonderfully. I will admit, using the toner on a sore pimple is probably the worst experience of your life, the alcohols sting SO BAD. But it does it's job and really evens out my skin tone! The lotion has benzoyl peroxide in it as well, so it can actually be a little drying on areas like my jawline, but is wonderful for oily, acne prone skin. It definitely doesn't clog pores or feel greasy. Makeup application is flawless over the lotion because it soaks in so well. Didn't work for me.
The cleanser was just ok. The pore targeting treatment and the complexion hydrator made my skin feel icky. My face didn't feel as clean as I would have hoped and saw no improvement after finishing my first shipment. Worked for me!
Last Fall, I started a bootcamp and was working out everyday for the first time in my life. I have always been breakout prone, but the change in lifestyle caused deep, extensive acne. The pore targeting treatment is the powerhouse in this system and what keeps my skin clear. The moisturizer is so much more luxrious than you would expect for an acne moisturizer. It smells great too. My kit also came with an eye cream, which is perfect because I always use one before bed anyway. Expensive, but..
I'm a cheapskate when it comes to some things, so it pains me that I pay so much for this product, but if you suffer from adult acne, it's truly worth it. I actually rarely suffered from acne as a teen, ironically, but in my twenties have suffered from hormonal cystic acne. Coupled with my OCD tendencies to want to pop, pick, etc., I needed help! I tried switching to more natural/organic cleansers, but soon my acne was back. So, once Proactiv+ ads popped up on TV, I said, "I'll try this!" I haven't been disappointed. My only dislike is that right now, I have to skip some days with the system, because it still is over-drying my skin slightly. Not nearly as drying as the regular Proactiv, though, because of the extra moisturizers. After I use the system, I let it dry on my face, then put my day or night moisturizer or sunscreen/BB/CC cream on over the top. The likelihood of your skin becoming addicted to this stuff is high. The products will NEVER run out at the same time so plan on stocking up on extra toner. I love the wash so much, but all of it gets an A

the only thing that's helped more than a diet change
I started to have a resurgence in acne soon after I turned 24. I completely overhauled my diet, avoiding milk, sugar, and wheat and most of the breakouts subsided. However, my skin would still break out and it seemed that nothing would make my skin perfect.
