Good texture
I got a sample of this in Ivory which is described as "fair to light with yellow undertones." My skin is definitely fair to light, so I was optimistic. Unfortunately the yellow is way more than an undertone, so I couldn't wear this for a full day to truly test it out. When I wiped it off with a cleansing wipe, it was seriously YELLOW on the wipe. I would love to get a sample of my correct shade in store to try out, because the texture of this makeup is DIVINE. I almost never use liquid makeup because I prefer a powder finish. This is liquid makeup WITH a powder finish and it feels smooth as silk on the skin. As long as you are able to go to a store to test the shades, I would definitely recommend this. Don't see what others are seeing....
Like most other reviewers, I got this as a sample from Sephora. It was a small packet of foundation that only lasted me two uses but during those two uses, I got the same result every time. Just because this foundation is way pricier than any other foundation I've tried, doesn't mean it performs any better. I love the silky smooth powdery texture of this and how it's mattifying but doesn't look c...read moreompletely matte so my face doesn't look flat. However, within an hour it looked super cakey and sunk into all my pores and fine lines. The foundation started to break apart on my face and oxidized really bad to an orange look. Not a very attractive look at all. I didn't want to love this foundation. It's exorbitantly expensive. I received a sample in a Sephora order and gave it a try. It worked out pretty well, more so than any other foundation I've tried to wear, so I went to my local store to get colour-matched. It says you're not supposed to apply it with a sponge, which I was annoyed with because my Beauty Blender is my most favourite tool, but after trying it I figured out that it just plain wasted too much product by being absorbed by the BB. With an ELF stippling brush and fairly small amounts, however, my oily, red, large-pore skin faded away and was replaced by even, matte skin. It did not fade all day except when I would sneeze and use a tissue, which is expected. It did not transfer. While it might have felt a bit oily when I touched my chin - and it did occasionally - it looked flawless and not shiny at all. Because of the huge colour difference between my regular, red skin and the colour I am with this on, you can tell I am wearing makeup, but ain't nothin' in the world that is going to make me look natural and I did not expect that from this product. It turns to powder fairly quickly so I would advise working in small areas at a time and not using setting powder, which just makes it LOOK powdery. I have used it with or without primer and it does stay on better with primer, but it lasts a whole work day without when I'm lazy. After applying, it didn't react or have any problems when I dusted blush on top (I've had foundations that pill up). It is expensive. It's picky in application. But it does what it advertises and it looks great.
