I got these in about eight different shades and I have to say that these, together with ELF’s mineral eye shadows are the shadows I use the most… My favorite colors so far are “bark”, “chocolate dream” and “bronzed beauty”.
In general, I would say that the dark colors are the most pigmented ones, but even the lighter colors are very buildable and easy to blend…
The best way to ...read moreuse these is definitely with a primer (since they are a bit powdery) or with a wet brush…
And yes, as I mentioned they are a bit powdery, so there is no creaminess whatsoever. However, they do apply very evenly and there is no “chalkiness” to them at all. The color is very uniform – not patchy or uneven in pigmentation…
I appreciate the fact that for $3 ($1.50 if you can get them during ELF’s 50% off sale) you can get a baked shadow that preserves its consistency all the way to the end… I’ve used baked shadows in the past, which are beautiful on the outside, but once you start using them you realize that there was only a thin layer of that beautiful color you fell in love with, and you are left with a dull boring version of it…
I would recommend these shadows to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive good quality eye shadow that has a bit of a sparkle and that is non-creamy and can be easily blended with other colours…
If you are looking for a lot of sparkle (in ELF’s products), then go with one of their mineral shadows (for a non-creamy alternative) or their “long lustrous” shadows (if you like creamy eye shadows)… Their “long lustrous” shadows don’t blend very well, but they do come in some of the most gorgeous colors.
Definitely $3 well spent! ;)
