Nice to try, but nothing special

It...read more was rather light, not as rich and heavy as I expected an "intensive" product to be. The scent was light and fresh-- a clean, after shower type of scent. I liked that it was not heavily perfumed. As I spread it on, I found that it absorbed easily, and didn't just sit on the skin. After a few minutes, the scent lightly lingered, and there was definitely a more moisturized feel to my skin. After a few hours, though, my skin felt normal-- not particularly more moisturized. I tried it again on a nightly basis for overnight moisturizing-- overall, I was not impressed when I woke up. I would have to say that this lotion is nothing special. It is nice enough, but I didn't really get the impression of the serum or any extra moisturizing. I wish I liked this!
I received a free bottle of this product to review, which is always fun and I've always had great luck doing this, but this one is kind of a miss. I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging. Usually when a product has "serum" in the name, I think of a tiny bottle (usually expensive--this is not!) with instructions to use only a tiny amount, but this is a normal-size bottle of lotion. Nothing on t...read morehe bottle mentions that it's a fragranced product, but the first thing I noticed when I squeezed some out of the tube into my hand was an overwhelming powdery floral scent. I do not have a strong sense of smell at all, so it's rare that any product has an overwhelming scent to me, but I did not care for this. The lotion feels nice going on--it's not greasy at all and it absorbs very quickly (especially on super dry winter skin). Unfortunately, after rubbing it in, I noticed that the perfumey scent had gone away only to be replaced by a strong and unpleasant plastic-like or chemical-ish odor. And that odor stayed with me the entire day--I kept catching a whiff of it as I went about my day and it was so so not good. Another time that I used it I tried applying a scented body spray after to cover the smell, but it didn't really work. Another problem is that awhile after putting the lotion on my legs, arms, and hands (all my most stubborn dry skin areas), I noticed an odd plastic-like feeling on my hands. It wasn't super unpleasant or anything, just noticeable and weird. One night I put the lotion on after my shower and later the next day I took a shower and noticed my shower gel wouldn't lather on the areas where I had used the lotion the night before. Only after shaving my legs could I get the shower gel to lather on my skin as usual. Very, very odd. One day I put the lotion on after my morning shower and later that day I went for a run at the gym. After sweating, the areas where I had applied lotion were sticky (unlike any lotion I've ever used before). A new favorite!
I love this new product by Vaseline. I already use the jelly so the fact that this lotion contains the jelly is a plus for me. I have rough elbows, specially during the winter time, so that's where I've been using this lotion. I love how quickly it absorbs into the skin, the creamy texture, and no oily residue. Great lotion
Today is the 7th day of testing this product, and I have seen an improvement in the texture and moisture of my skin. The name is slightly misleading, because this is not just a serum. It has the consistancy of a very smooth lotion. As soon as you put it on, you start smelling a wonderful perfume- like smell. I absolutely love how it smells. My boyfriend likes the smell so much he decided to use it...read more a couple times too. And the smell is not intense at all, but lingers perfectly and complements real fragrances. Once applying the lotion, it feels slightly silicon-like, or greesey on your skin. Which is not unpleasant, it feels like moisture going into your skin. After less than a minute, it gets absorbed into my skin and my skin is feeling really smooth. The smooth feeling lasts all day until night which is great. I also had a few rough red patches on my arm (rough, cold winter) that the Vaseline helped heal. I do believe this lotion packed serum has been improving my skin and I will continue to use it. Nice, hardworking lotion
This is a really decent, hydrating lotion -- works much better than a lot of moisturizers that are this thin of a texture. The scent is on the stronger side, but pleasant. For all the hype, though, I expected this to absorb completely into the skin, leaving my skin feeling bare and powdery. Instead, it does leave a slightly tacky feeling, like most moisturizers. New Product again by Vaseline
I received this in the mail to test. I am not a fan of Vaseline products at all. I have never liked their lotions. I really dislike the petroleum jelly. I don't know how people can even use that on their eyes. You put just a tad on and it removes makeup but, it takes forever to remove the vaseline. I bought it just to try again because it gets raves as a staple! Not for me. In the trash it...read more went. I do LOVE their spray lotions and hope they are not discontinued. I use them ALL the time. Especially on back where I can't reach to put lotion and when I am going out. Spay and go. It absorbs fabulously. No greasy feeling like the rest of their products. Just nice. Which, brings me to this review. The product smells amazing. I do not know the scent but can say it is great. I loved smelling myself! No need for any perfume with this the scent is so delightful. I prefer body creams. I prefer thicker creams so if you are looking for something like a thicker cream this is not for you. It is somewhere between a lotion and a cream but, a thin cream. The packaging is good because it is inverted and you can get all the cream out of the tube I suspect. Much easier than a pump bottle. There is not a huge hole in the tube. So, too much will not come out. I am sure the manufacturers plan the products this way. So, on that alone I would reconsider purchasing this. I run hot water and put the tube in the bowl before applying so it is nice and warm when it goes on my body. You can just take a little bit, less than the size of a quarter but, bigger than a dime and it will do half of a leg. It goes on very smoothly. It absorbs quickly and does not have a lasting oily feel. So, that is a plus with me. Vaseline for some reason keeps changing products. Once you get used to one, they develop another one and discontinue old products. I would buy this again. I don't know how much it will be in the drugstore. Nice though. If you prefer something thicker than a lotion this is for you. If you like body cream, this will not be a go to for you. Very strong scent
Thank you total beauty for the opportunity to try this out! Unfortunately not a fave. The lotion went very smoothly and soaked into my pretty quickly. My dry flaky winter skin calmed down, the flakiness subsided. My skin felt soft and moisturized throughout the day. But I could not get past the strong scent, kind of synthetic vanilla with a touch of floral. Another Vaseline Staple!
I love the fact that this serum contains micro-droplets of Vaseline jelly which I believe is what gives long-lasting hydration. My hands didn’t feel as dry after washing them as they normally would, because the Vaseline jelly probably helped retain some of the moisture. My hands get so dry in the winter, particularly around the knuckles, that when I apply a moisturizer, it stings. When I applied this to my hands, however, it felt soothing, and they seemed to soak up the serum readily, leaving me with healthy looking, moisturized skin almost instantly. I like that with the moisturizing feel, my hands are not greasy. It is my pet peeve to have an oily moisturizer, but with this, you can apply the serum and still be ready to work! The serum has a very pleasant, beautiful scent, and you can smell it even after application. Those of you sensitive to fragrances in product might consider it a strong scent. Moreover, the formula was indeed gentle on my skin, no rashes or breakouts. The squeeze tube is very soft, and the dispenser is also very precise so you don’t waste too much product. The top ingredients of this product contain water, glycerin – which is an amazing moisturizer on its own and adheres to the skin, preventing moisture loss – and dimethicone, which adds to the skin’s silky feel. It is like Vaseline jelly and lotion combined into 1. I feel that this product is an all-rounder. I applied it to my hands, massaged it onto my dry cuticles, and even overnight on my drying feet – I woke up with smoother, softer feet. A successful lotion
We all know and love the dense, cure-all powerhouse that is the original Vaseline. This lotion, however, is much more liquid than jelly. The texture is light and runny, but it does moisturize adequately. I personally prefer a more creamy and concentrated formula, but as the bottle is sized generously, it's easy enough to reapply.
