Referring to Jin Soon Choi as a manicurist is a major understatement -- nail guru, goddess or genius are all more appropriate. She is the proprietress of three beautiful New York City nail salons (Jin Soon Natural Hand and Foot Spa), works with celebrities, has an impressive editorial portfolio, and knows everything there is to know about nails. But she does it all quietly -- and that's probably why it took her more than 25 years to come out with her own line of JINsoon polishes.
In the current climate of nail mania, Choi could have done anything -- diamonds! lace! glow-in-the-dark! -- but in true Jin Soon fashion, she showed restraint and opted for 12 chic shades. The polishes are divided into two collections: Quintessential, six classic reds and nudes, and A La Mode, six… See more »

I love being surprised by a beauty product. I tend to write off items as a back-ups to keep on hand just in case I run out of my staple, but once in a while, when I end up trying it, it's so fantastic that I promote it to go-to status immediately. This doesn't happen often but when it does I'm giddy and gush about my new treasure to anyone who will listen.
Consider this, one of those moments. Last week I tried Victoria's Secrets Seriously Soft Body Cream, $15, a lotion from the brand's new "Love My Body" line. The luxe moisturizer could have been a knock-off of Bliss or dare I say, La Mer itself -- it's that great.
Just a dab of the cream kept my legs baby soft and smooth all day -- none of that slimy or sticky feel either. Plus, it has a delicious light grapefruit and… Read more »

Now you can buy kitschy-chic teacups, retro-inspired dresses, and luxurious lipstick all at the same place.
Anthropologie, the home of all that is whimsical, is launching their own lipstick line called Albeit. Although this is not Anthropologie's first dip into the beauty business (they already offer a couple underground brands like Lipstick Queen and Julie Hewett), it is their first in-house collection. Not surprisingly, the line is exactly what you would expect from the thrifty store: Gold vintage-style cases that come in six trendy lipstick colors. The creamy, argan-oil infused shades are Bisque, a soft beige; Claret, a rose berry; Mauvette, a classic nude; Peony, a medium-hued retro pink; Vermilion, a timeless red with blue-violet undertones; and Mulberry, a sheer blackberry… See more »

There are a few cult-classic beauty products that always top the "best of" lists: Mason Pearson hairbrushes, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, Maybelline Great Lash Mascara.
A slightly lesser known (but just as amazing) product on our "best of" list: Seche Nail Lacquer Fast Dry Top Coat. It's been a favorite for years, but now we have a new reason to love the brand. Seche Vite just announced the release of their first collection of color polishes. Cue the giddy shrieks of DIY mani gals (like myself) the world over.
Not only are the 33 colors ideal for fall (lots of earthy neutrals, rich pinks, and vamp-y blues) but you don't even need to apply a topcoat. That's right, two coats and you're dry in less than 10 minutes -- seriously. The only thing you'll need patience for is… See more »

Now you really can have the Midus touch.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise, OPI is launching a 18K gold-leaf top coat called “The Man with the Golden Gun.” (That’s the name of the 1974 Bond film, and yes, we’re surprised OPI didn’t name it after the more popular "Golden Eye" or the more apropos "Goldfinger" too.)
At $30 a bottle, getting a Bond girl-worthy mani doesn’t come cheap. But the polish looks gorgeous, so it just might be worth the splurge.
The limited-edition lacquer comes out in October -- just in time to wear it to the newest 007 film "Skyfall," which comes out on November 9th.
