Find it hard to knock back the recommended 8 glasses of water every day? I did, too -- until I started keeping a cute water bottle on my desk at all times. I've found that if it's in front of me, I keep reaching for it. And the result is that I drink way more than the recommended 8 glasses -- and my skin has never looked better.
These new, colorful SIGG bottles just hit store shelves (and my desk) yesterday, and my co-workers and I are already enamored. They come in a rainbow of bright, happy-making colors. Even better, SIGG bottles have a laundry list of amazing features: They're BPA- and phthalate-free; they're completely taste and odor-neutral (you can put iced coffee in the bottle today and water in it tomorrow and you won't taste even a hint of coffee); and they're 100 percent… See more »

If you're a fan of Lush's amazing bath bombs and hand-cut soaps, then you're going to flip for their makeup collection, which launches this Saturday. It's called Emotional Brilliance, and the colors correspond to different feelings.
Sure, it sounds a little hippie-dippie, but it's all in good fun. Lush worked with strategic behavioral therapist and color expert Lady Kennedy to choose the palette. They even developed a special color wheel -- so next time you stop into a Lush store, choose the shade that speaks to you and find out what it says about your emotional state.
Even if color therapy isn't your thing, you'll still love the products. They glide on beautifully, last all day, and the pigments are bright and on trend (that's what we care most about). Plus, and the… Read More »

Brazilian artist Angelika Dass set out to color categorize every skin tone imaginable, calling it the "chromatic inventory" of human skin tones. Collaborating with Pantone's alpha-numerical color code, she set out to match skin tone to a code. She takes headshots of her models, then matches their skin tone to the exact Pantone color. The model's picture is then placed against the colored backdrop and stamped with its color code -- just like a paint card.
She's already catalogued hundreds of skin tone paint cards in the Humanae database, but Dass hopes to eventually record and catalog all possible variants in order to challenge our traditional… See more »

Here in the Total Beauty offices, we editors debate a lot of things: The prettiest blush, the longest-lasting lipstick, which hairspray really holds curls.
So in the rare times we all agree that one item is amazing -- you know it must be a fantastic pick. Especially when that product is a perfume. Fragrance can be such a tricky product because it's so personal and so hard to really judge a "great" scent.
However, when the new L'Occitane En Provence Eau de Cologne in Eau Ravissante, $27 hit our desks, we were instantly and unanimously obsessed with it. Not only is the art-deco-inspired bottle perfect for your vanity, the light floral scent -- which has top notes of pink pepper and freesia -- has hints of citrus and leaves all of us craving another whiff. Trust us, if you get one… Read More »
