Remember when Jergens made makeup? (Neither do we.) Launched in the early 1940s, this Art Deco face powder was part of a cosmetics campaign featuring the Vargas Girls, an illustration of pin-up girls by Alberto Vargas. Each product came with a paper insert with the slogan, "The Newest in Complexion Loveliness," as well as a chart to match your shade -- Naturelle, Brunette, Rachel, or Dark Rachel. The words, "Styled by Alix of Paris" were scripted across the lid as a nod to French fashion designer Madame Alix Grès. Tres chic, non?
