Road Test: The Best Makeup on PinterestWe tried the fall makeup trends everyone's pinning to help you figure out which looks are worth trying to mimic. Here are the ones to try |
Chiseled cheeks For this look, I kept it simple and went straight to piling on the bronzer. One of my favorites is 100% Pure Cocoa Pigment Bronzer in Cocoa Glow, $25, because it doesn't have that gross, Oompa Loompa-esque tint. To really contour my cheeks, I also applied a little bit of Make Up For Ever Uplight Face Luminizer Gel in Pearly Pink Flesh, $29, along the area under my eyes, and on top of my cheekbones.
My hints: There are two old tricks I always use when creating chiseled cheeks. The first is to make a fish face while you apply your bronzer. There's no better way to be sure you are applying right under your cheekbones. Then, I always use a small strip of Scotch tape to tidy up the bronzer and make the lines more distinct. Use the tape like you would to pick up lint off clothing, applying in a diagonal direction above and below the bronzer. The tape will clean up the makeup without fully removing your foundation. It's also a great way to get rid of any fallen glitter and eyeshadow, too.

The pins are superior to the woman featured. :( Disappointing.

I really appreciate seeing a woman of color recreate the look to fit her skin tone. It gives women of color inspiration to recreate "high-end" looks. I do wish her products were a little more budget friendly. I didn't care for every single look but it was nice to see her attempt the looks anyways.

Pretty makeup looks but definitely not going to go out and buy these products just to recreate these faces. I'll stick to the less expensive makeup brands!
