How to Recreate Beyoncé's Hair Incident for HalloweenYour step-by-step to becoming Beyonce (musical talent not included) |
Beyoncé has been my idol since I could hand a $10 bill to the clerk in exchange for a Destiny's Child single at The Warehouse (look it up, it was soo a thing. Which is why I've been Foxy Cleopatra and Deena from "Dreamgirls" for at least three Halloweens in a row. And I'm not alone on this. She has a tendency to be the inspiration of thousands of viral Halloween re-creations worldwide (Single Ladies dance craze, anyone?). So this year I got together with the Total Beauty team to take the Beyoncé Halloween metamorphosis even further.
It wasn't her epic Super Bowl halftime performance, her $50 million Pepsi campaign showcasing newly platinum blonde hair, or her and Jay Z's status as the highest-earning celebrity couple that we wanted to recreate. We went for the most unforgettable moment of her most recent world tour. In Montreal, while singing "Halo," Beyoncé's flowing hair got caught in a stage fan. As crew members scrambled to cut her out of it, Beyoncé never missed a beat. What could have been a totally scary (not to mention embarrassing) incident became a touchstone example her unwavering professionalism. Because if anyone can pull off singing an entire verse, hook, and chorus with her hair caught in a fan, it's Beyoncé.
See how we recreated Bey's major moment of 2013.
