City Slicker 1. On dry, tangle-free hair, create a deep side part.
2. Apply a smoothing serum, like Redken Glass Smoothing Serum, $16, onto your hair on either side of your part. Smooth it down evenly using a soft bristle brush.
3. Gather your hair back to the nape of your neck, using a soft brush to slick your hair down as you go. Then secure your hair with an elastic.
4. Tighten your ponytail gently, as necessary. Take a 1- to 2-inch section of your hair from underneath your ponytail and tease it using a fine-toothed comb.
5. Wrap the teased section of your hair around the base of the elastic, then secure it underneath with a bobby pin. 6. Tease your ponytail ends using the fine toothed comb, then finish with a workable hairspray, like Joico K-Pak Protective Hairspray, $13.99.
