The Trick to Getting a Perfect Half-Moon Mani The look: An emerald green half-moon mani with a naked base and metallic tips. "The luminous green feels even more luxe once it's tipped in gold," Langston says, "and the negative space at the moon is very sexy."
The products: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Gilty Party and On Pines and Needles
The technique: Apply paper hole reinforcements (the kind you use to patch up binder paper) to the back of your fingers so that the top of the circle covers the lighter "half-moon" at the base of the nail. Apply two coats of On Pines and Needles to the nails above the reinforcements and immediately remove the stickers when finished. Allow polish to dry completely. Then, gently lay another set of reinforcements higher on the nail bed so only the tip of the nail peeks out. Paint the tips with one to two layers of Gilty Party.
