Steal These Fitness Gurus' Gym Bag Beauty EssentialsLooking good while you sweat takes work. Here, the get-gorgeous, stay-gorgeous products no gym bag should be without |
Melisse Gelula, Editorial Director, Co-Founder, Well+Good
Dry Shampoo: I'm obsessed with dry shampoo," admits Gelula. She loves vegan, organic, cruelty-free SkinnySkinny Dry Shampoo, which is a wiz at zapping excess oil. Also, it's "the size of a salt shaker," says Gelula -- perfect for an overcrowded gym bag. "You can learn a lot in the SoulCycle locker room -- and I learned you can blast your sweaty hair dry with a blow-dryer first then add the dry shampoo."
Face Mist: "I can't imagine putting serum or moisturizer on until I've cooled down. So I love, love, love a face mist, ideally something toning with white willow bark or hyaluronic acid, which draws 1,000 times its weight in water. It feels like I'm replenishing my skin after sweating it all out. Right now I'm all about Yuli Metamorphic Elixir. It's light, but it has amazing skin-renewing ingredients like vitamins A and C. It's worth carrying the bottle around, though fingers crossed they come out with a travel size," she says.
Face Oil: "I'm huge fan of facial oil and I use a few at a time, one in the morning, one at night. The one in my gym bag right now is Earth Tu Face Anti-Aging + Restorative with Sea Buckthorn + Geranium. My skin looks amazing when I use it, the texture's perfect, and the smell is divine. I'm going to be very upset when it runs out."
Travel-Friendly Makeup: "I allow one minute for makeup, and I've got it down to three steps: Swipe on a concealer foundation stick and blend with my fingers. Swipe on a bronzer stick on my cheeks and eyelids, like [Vapour Organic Beauty Solar Translucent Bronzer] and then apply mascara. Kjaer Weiss Mascara is slightly smaller, so it fits in my tiniest cosmetic bag. And it's incredibly chic. I see women staring at it, because of the stainless steel look. Somehow it's quick-drying, which is great for dashing out of the locker room and to work."
