Knot Your Average Braid Winter continued to be the inspiration at Jonathan Simkhai where hairstylist Thomas Osborn (working with Catwalk by Tigi) created a "frozen goddess" look. "It was inspired by the idea of a natural, windswept feel," he explained. "We wanted to keep the front of the hair soft with some 'frozen' pieces and have a Nordic knot down the back. The look is strong, yet not fussy."
He used Catwalk by Tigi Bodifying Spray, $18, to create texture, and he dried the hair in a backwards and upwards motion. Then, he knotted the hair at the nape of the neck and secured it with an elastic before adding a second knot lower down the ponytail. While this style may look elaborate, it's easy to recreate. "It shouldn't be perfect," said Osborn.
