  • Many of us women go on wacky diets (Tab and cottage cheese anyone?) to lose a layer before a class reunion, vacation, wedding (check out this wedding day beauty count down if you're getting hitched), etc. or when we just need to get rid of that I'm-depressed-so-I'm-going-to-indulge-like-Elizabeth-Gilbert-in-Rome muffin top. But have you ever gone on a skin diet?

  • I have always sucked at math. And apparently all the beauty editors I work with also sucked at math as yesterday we admitted taking the "History of Math" or "Computer Science (aka how to write HTML code)" in lieu of trig in order to graduate college. I know what you're thinking: "too busy with Classic Hairstyles 101 or learning how to solve your biggest hair issue, eh?" Nooo, okay, well … maybe.

  • Acne is literally and figuratively a four-letter word and "bacne" (back acne) evokes that same cringe-worthy, visceral response, no? Our clothes can trap dead skin cells and sweat -- especially post-workout -- which can trigger breakouts in that hard-to-reach area. But our friend Annet King (the one who showed us how to pop a zit the right way in this how-to video ), Director of Global Education of The International Dermal Institute, has tips to help you combat bacne -- so you can wear a back-baring dress or top, without fear of having a giant whitehead on display:

  • Let me start with the assertion that I am, unabashedly single. I tell you this because it means that I have more time available to myself than most.

  • It also means that when Sasha Fierce (Beyonce Knowles' single/hip-gyrating/edgy alter-ego) commanded all of us boyfriend- or husband-deprived ladies to "put our hands up" via a pop beat, I listened more intently than others.

  • We hate to interrupt your easy and (hopefully) breezy summer day with a Debbie Downer moment, but you know that lipstick that you've been wearing since '99 (find your best lip color here)? Well, it just might have beetle juice in it. Yup, you heard us right -- we didn't stutter (and haven't downed one too many glasses of Pinot Grigio either). And the products you slather on your face, body and hair daily may also contain freaky ingredients like placenta, breast milk and even infant foreskin. It's true.

  • Me: "My boyfriend just broke up with me"

  • My stylist: "Don't worry, I've got scissors, and they fix everything"

  • Me: "Alright, give me the Meg Ryan"

  • The 2010 Teen Choice Awards were on last night, but they didn't make it on to my must-TiVo queue. I really don't get too jazzed up about tween pop stars and 20-something vampires -- to be honest they make me feel a bit cougar-ish. I'm more often inspired by these gorgeous celebs over 40. But the main reason I didn't watch is that I can't stand Katy Perry (who hosted the show). It still bugs me that she became famous for ripping off and creating a really bad, Girls-Gone-Wild version of Jill Sobule's hit from the '90s.

  • Anyhoo, I couldn't help but check out photo recaps of the star-infested event to see who rocked winning and losing hair and makeup looks. But instead of getting all Perez Hilton on you (like we kinda did in this best and worst celeb plastic surgery round up), I'll step down from my why-I-loathe-Katy-Perry soapbox and just highlight the best beauty looks, OK?

  • Nicky Kinnaird has one of the coolest jobs ever: try out beauty products, and choose the best. Her Space NK stores and counters then bring the best of the best to you and me -- from cult classics like Eve Lom Cleanser to Zelens Intensive Triple Action Eye Cream ("the best eye cream I've ever come across -- ever"). See top-rated eye creams from our readers.

  • We caught up with Nicky at the opening of Space NK at Bloomingdale's in Santa Monica, Calif., and got a rundown of her five product crushes of the moment.

  • Whether you lament about breakouts and acne scars, curse crows feet and marionette lines, or worry about sunburns and melanoma (take this quiz to see if that suspect mole might be cancer ), we're here to quell your skin fears. How? We're bringing Dr. Ronald Moy to you (well, not literally, but …) -- a renowned dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon with a practice in Beverly Hills, Calif. According to Moy, these are the questions you should ask your derm and we couldn't help but ask him for answers (in case you don't have one or can't afford one):

  • Haven’t you always wanted to travel to Italy, India and Bali to find peace and finally let go of your middle-aged womanly weary? Gelato fueled path to self-discovery, anyone? Good news. Thanks to HSN and 72 hours of "Eat, Pray, Love" inspired programming, you can find enlightenment through beauty products and without ever leaving your couch. Namaste.
