Vogue's Anna Wintour has a particular way of doing things. For one, the magazine's covers are typically plastered with lithe and attractive pretty young things with BMI's well under the "normal" range. But that could be changing. Because Wintour is supposedly considering putting Girls creator Lena Dunham on the cover of the magazine.

How is this news, you say? Right. Well, Vogue's not really known for bending the rules when it comes to body types. Says an ever-so-classy source, Wintour wants Dunham on the cover so bad, "she's willing to violate a lot of Vogue traditions to do it, including putting her on the cover even though she doesn't really conform to the body type that Vogue has featured for most of its history."

It seems pretty crazy to us that the idea of Anna Wintour putting a woman on the cover whose body pretty fairly reflect the way American women look (at least way more than the average model) is considered controversial. Lena's a beauty, and a boundary-breaker in a lot of ways, not the least of which because she's managed to accomplish so much at such a young age. And if anything, that deserves to be celebrated on the cover of a magazine. [The Cut]
