These totally temporary, because-they're-clip-in highlights are a fun way to add pops of color to your hair. Though Katy Perry chooses a blue, pink and purple combo, you can stick to one color for a more subtle approach -- we think blondes look great with pink streaks and darker-haired ladies with blue or purple pieces. Try something like Easihair Easilites Clip-In 100% Human Hair Highlights (16"), $8.95.

"Like a Virgin" hair accessory
Mischa Barton is channeling Madonna circa 1984 here and we think it totally works, for Halloween. The off-centered bow is surely a throw back to our queen of pop, but if it seems too innocent, or little girlish for you to pull off, then swipe on a bold lip color and be sure to have that man-eater look in your eye -- like Barton does here.

Black nails
We know you have black polish in your stash of lacquer, so go ahead Goth it up. The black nails Ashley Benson shows off here add an edgy vibe to any look. Watch this three-minute manicure video to get your nails in tip-top shape before applying your polish.

Smurfette-inspired lip color
We get that this is not your average lip color, nor a look that we'd typically recommend you try. But, in the spirit of Halloween, why the heck not? Ke$ha takes it further by pairing her stained-by-a-Slurpee blue lips with blue eyeliner and a matching tribal design on her arm. Anyone brave enough to try this look?
Our prediction for this year's most popular costumes:
In American culture, October is synonymous with Halloween. As soon as October 1st hits (or maybe before, if you're overly excited about dressing up), a buzz surrounding what costume to wear, and which wig, hairstyle or what type of makeup will best support that chosen character starts to build. However, some of us might not want to sport a full-on costume or has time to, right? Or perhaps leading up to this holiday, we feel compelled to wear some Halloween-inspired hair or makeup looks around town or maybe even to the office to get into the festive mood.
Because of this fact we've done a little roundup of some celebrity-inspired hair, makeup and nail trends that can pass for being somewhat Halloween-y. We've got everything from "Like a Virgin" hair accessories to hair color reminiscent of the '90s to Geisha and Smurfette-inspired lips and so much more.
Now, if you wanna take it a step further or decide you do have time for a full-on costume, here are a few of our favorite Halloween how-to makeup videos:
