There's hardly a celeb on the red carpet that hasn't tried fringe, but Cutler says there's a specific type of bangs you should try in 2013. "We're seeing a lot more structure in haircutting lately," he says. "I've been seeing very strong bangs; sexy bangs, not choppy and piece-y, but chic and polished."

Flawless, contoured skin
OK, so flawless skin never really goes out of style, but Del Castillo says this year the trend is to focus on highlighting and contouring your features. "Add light to your face, don't use bronzer only, but add highlight to your cheekbones, under your brows, and at your temples," he says. "You want a nice, satiny look to your skin, not shiny."
Del Castillo suggests using cream or powder highlighters along with your usual bronzer and blush. And spend a little extra time perfecting your complexion with foundation and concealer. "If I see glowing, gorgeous skin, that's really striking to me," Del Castillo says. "I really look at it, all the highlights and contours, and I'll automatically give that woman a compliment on her skin -- even if it could be just makeup smoke and mirrors."

Updated Veronica Lake
Cutler says period looks (think the '20s, '30s, and '40s) are going to be huge this year. His favorite spin on this retro style is an "updated Veronica Lake" look. "It's barrel curls but flatter at the roots, with a side part it's a nice update to a classic look," he says.
You could also go for more structured 20s-inspired waves or a bob. Cutler says that with these retro looks "there's an immediately recognizable elegance, a truly stylized look that results in a true statement."
What's the one product that completes any look? Mascara. And these are the latest and greatest mascaras right now.
For the longest time, most of us tended to play it pretty safe when it came to beauty. Neutral nails, pink lips, maybe a colorful eyeshadow or pixie cut now and then if we were feeling wacky.
But over the past few seasons, makeup and hair trends have been going bolder. Maybe it's the Lady Gaga/Nicki Minaj effect, but now we've got neon nail art, tangerine lipstick, and sky blue chalk in our hair -- and it's actually looking way better than we may have once thought. And 2013 looks like it's bringing even more outrageous-but-still-wearable trends our way.
Even if you haven't gotten more daring with your look lately, the new trends for 2013 are worth trying. Yes, they're bold -- but they're also totally flattering and easy to pull off for everyone. In fact, we're willing to bet some of these hair and makeup trends will replace your classic cat eye or beachy waves and become your new signature look.
